Lu Bu Yu Diao Chan

Upon the rave reviews and a "just because" I like the main actress, Chen Hong, I decided to catch on with the trend and try out this long epic, which on a normal series time-frame basis will take me at least 2 weeks to finish because of my workaholic lifestyle and gym adventures. You can call this series one of those "expect the unexpected" pieces that I've been yearning for years and years to come, as I thought serials today would never top past masterpieces like Warrior Periods (Kwok Chun On, China) or Legend of Condor Heroes (Felix Wong, HK). Lu Bu, Diao Chan definitely hit my hall of fame list for best tv serials ever to have debuted on my indoor big screen. Am I exaggerating? Not a bit.

All about Huang Lei & Chen Hong

Usually, when you're a good actor, you'll become the character you're playing, but Huang Lei and Chen Hong surpasses their skills and instead let the characters become them. Huang Lei surprises me by how good he is. And by how GOOD LOOKING he is as well. I melt when he smiles everytime he's with Diao Chan. Chen Hong, I must say, is BEAUTIFUL and blossoms into her role. I honestly cannot find any other actors or actresses who can replace Huang and Chen. Geng Le glowed as the villian who later shed a tear for Diao Chan whom he thought would never have his heart. From Huang, Chan and Geng, to Sik Siu Lung who did a extraordinary job as the young Lu Bu, who did not say a word but spoke through his expression. This showed that the little Siu Lung that we all loved had grown up to become not just a fighting machine, but a brainy and talented young man. Lets not forget the supporting actors and actresses. They all did a superb job blending into their roles, so well!

Plot/Direction/Costume/Action/Musical

I really like how the director adds color into the different time frames. Like Diao Chan's costume, when she was tempting men, she'll be in red, white shows her innocence, so on. I can tell the director was focused when he made this series because everything seems to come out without a flaw. The fighting scenes here were magical. No strings, no wires, beautifully done, as if the characters really flew! The theme song is great. There are no lyrics, just powerful beats to represent Lu Bu's world. Beautiful intrumental pieces showing Lu Bu and Diao Chan's love at the end. The plot to this epic can do no wrong. Even though this serial is long, it's so good, i didn't keep my time in check. From the beginning to the end, it never failed to keep me intriqued.

Overall

I highly reccommend this series to all who want to watch a good series but haven't been able to in recent years. Anyone who is interested in the history of the warrior Lu Bu, a beautiful, intense romance, and the woman he came to love, Diao Chan. Diao Chan, the gorgeous woman who no man could resist, but whose love was only for one man, Lu Bu. This is a very detailed, heart-melting, true story about what each had to endure, just to be in each other arms. This is the true story of Lu Bu and Diao Chan.
