Introduction

"Tian Wai Fei Xian" is adapted from a traditional Chinese folklore story called "Tian Xian Pei." In the folklore, the seventh celestial maiden sees a poor man (Dong Yong) who has just lost his parents. Out of curiosity and consideration, she secretly leaves the celestial world (tian ting) and eventually marries Dong Yong. They manage to live a few earth years secretly without her father (Yu Di) discovering them. However, once Yu Di realizes that his seventh daughter has married a mortal, he becomes enraged and sends his guards to arrest the seventh princess. After many struggles and attempts to be together, the seventh princess and Dong Yong succumb to their tragic fate and settle with only meeting each other once a year during July seventh in the Lunar Calendar.

Plot 5/5

Although "Tian Wai Fei Xian" keeps the basic building blocks of the folklore, it adds lots of development in the relationship between Dong Yong (Di Gua) and Qi Gong Zhu (Xiao Qi). The story starts with the love between Xiao Qi's second sister (Xiao er) and Lao Fu Zi. Like Xiao Qi and Di gua, fifty years ago, Xiao Er has also fallen in love with Lao Fu Zi despite the fact that he is a mortal. They attempt to escape once their love was revealed but unfortunately, they were captured by Er Lang Sheng. Xiao Er was then imprisoned in "Yo Ming Yuan," a place where celestial beings were imprisoned for their crimes. Fifty years have passed and Xiao Er is still imprisoned because she refuses to admit that her love was wrong. Likewise, Lao Fu Zi hasn't forgotten Xiao Er either and directed a play called "Xian Fan Zhi Ge" (The boundary between the mortal and celestial worlds). Dong Yong (Di gua), one of his students, participates in the production of the play. As a simple and naïve young man, Dong Yong confronts Lao Fu Zi about why the celestial maiden cannot be together with the mortal. Lao Fu Zi answers him with a question: "Do you know how tall the sky is?" Di gua then sends a kite attached with the question "Ni yo duo gao" (How tall are you?) up into the sky. Coincidentally, Xiao qi catches the kite, which starts the story between the two.

Xiao Er is in danger of losing her life if she continues to stay in "Yo Ming Yuan" but she still refuses to admit that her love was a mistake. Determined to save her older sister, Xiao Qi secretly goes down to earth to search for Lao Fu Zi to make him write a "breakup letter" to Xiao Er in order to end Xiao Er's love for him. She seeks Di gua's help since he is the only person she knows on earth.

During the process of finding Lao Fu Zi and addressing his problem, Xiao Qi and Di gua develop very subtle, intimate feelings for each other, though both of them, especially Xiao Qi, are unaware of it. Xiao qi is eventually discovered and is forced to leave the earth (fan jian). Before she leaves, Di Gua confesses his love for her, not knowing that she is a celestial being. Xiao Qi feels very baffled by her emotions but this doesn't last long, as Yu Di then takes away her love roots (qing geng) in order for her to be able to study morals with Di Gua and not fall in love with him. Therefore, Xiao Qi is dressed up as a man with the manly and harsh name of Long Guang Biao and sent to Di Gua's house. Although Di Gua finds Long Guang Biao very similar to Xiao Qi, he doesn't suspect anything and devotes himself to teaching Long Guang Biao…

Other parts of the of the story that are worth addressing are the stories of Shang Guang Hao Qi and Fu Yuan Bao, good friends of Di gua. Shang Guan Hao Qi is a descendent of the royal Shang Guan family that has once served a powerful position in the government but is now desolate due to the change of dynasties. As a child, he is imprinted with the notion that he is his family's only hope and has to study hard to get first place in the civil service test and "chu ren to di" (win above others). He is a very talented and attractive but aloof guy that is cold on the outside, but actually cares a lot about his friends and family.

After he rescued a girl named Li Sai Jing, Sai Jing falls deeply in love with him and tries very hard to get close to him despite the fact that she knows that Hao Qi wants to devote himself to his studies. After her multiple proposals, Hao Qi eventually accepts Sai Jing's love, though he is clear that he cannot promise her anything. During one competition, Hao Qi receives the honor of going to Jing Cheng to compete for the place of "Wu Zhuan Yuan." Due to his unwillingness to conform to the corruption of the government, he was framed for raping the princess but luckily was saved by Xiang Xue Hai, a cat that was saved by his grandfather, father, and Hao Qi in the past. She sacrifices a life to revive Hao Qi and then falls deeply in love with him. She tells Hao Qi the truth about their relationship and also reveals to him the fact that their lives are connected. If one person dies, so will the other. Although Hao Qi is still in love with Sai Jing, he cannot reject Xue Hai's love because their lives are connected to each other. Therefore, he marries Xue Hai…

Fu Yuan Bao, the last of these three friends, has the lightest story of the three. He was born in a rich family with a miserly father. He seems like a playboy, having a crush on Sai Jing and Xiao Qi at times, but inside, he is a very sweet and devoted person. He often bickers with Cui Niang, the daughter of the Xian Ling (mayor) of the Qian Cheng Xian (the town they live in). They seem to hate each other and bicker endlessly, but on the day of their birthdays, (they were born on the same day) they kept each other company due to the lack of family and friends by their sides and ended up on the same bed after they were drunk. Of course, Yuan Bao was then forced to marry Cui Niang and he ran away to avoid the marriage. He then comes back however, and marries Cui Niang after his father agrees to give him all of his possessions if he marries Cui Niang. They become a bitter couple until Cui Niang puts a magical love potion on Yuan Bao's eyes. He wakes up and falls in love with her…

General Comments 4.5/5

Although I'm not a very harsh grader, it is extremely extremely hard to find something that I really really love and has an impact on me. "Tian Wai Fei Xian" succeeded in doing though so. This series started out happy and light, bringing lots of comical relief. The first scene where two men attempted to act out the story of Xian Fan Zhi Ge was just hilarious. No matter how many times I watch it I can't stop laughing. The plot then starts to get serious as Xiao Qi and Di Gua's love relationship starts to get more serious and sweet. Basically, there is a great balance between comedy and tragedy. The happy/funny scenes are very sweet and cozy while the tragic scenes were heart-wrenching and painful to watch.

Another thing that I found amazing about "Tian Wai Fei Xian" was that it managed to make every character shine. Usually in a drama, only the main characters are well-developed (if they even are well-developed). Under some other circumstances, maybe there might be two memorable pairs or so (like in "Xiao Yu Er Yu Hua Wu Que"). However, numerous characters in "Tian Wai Fei Xian" had a memorable story behind them. Therefore, I was never bored while watching it.

My only criticism for the plot are the preaching/philosophical scenes. The director of "Tian Wai Fei Xian", (who also directed "Xian Jian Qi Xia Zhuan") has a reputation for pondering over the question of love. As much as I am touched by love and the love between the characters in "Tian Wai Fei Xian", I still feel that the preaching/philosophical scenes were ridiculous and certain scenes were way too dramatic. Actually, I almost didn't want to watch "Tian Wai Fei Xian" because of the foreshadowing opening scenes in the beginning of the drama. The scene opens with Xiao Qi being taken away from Di Gua. That is a melodramatic and painful scene and is touching and sad when you watch it with the proceedings of the drama. However, the scene looks ridiculous when you watch it as the first scene of a drama without any knowledge of the characters. The nickname Di Gua (sweet potato) is fine and sweet when you watch it and get used to in during the drama, but when you just see a girl randomly reaching out her arms to a guy crying and calling "Di gua, Di Gua" (Sweet Potato, Sweet Potato), it just looks ridiculous. The scene then immediately proceeds to Dong Yong's conversion with Yu Di about why he and Xiao Qi should be together. Watching two men asking each other "Ai shi she me" (What is love?) and "Ni zhi bu zhi dao ai de zheng di" (Do you know the true essence of love" shocked me and I would have turned off the TV and not watched anymore if the opening song didn't finally start playing and save the screen. Later scenes where Guan Ying preaches to people about the importance of love were boring and weird also. My friend and I couldn't stop laughing when she says in her slow and sleep voice "Zhi yo zhu fu, mei yo zu zhou" (Only good wishes, no wicked wishes). I know it's an important message, but the overemphasis was too much for me. I took off .5 points just for this because these scenes annoyed me too much.

Characters 5/5

As I said, "Tian Wai Fei Xian" produced characters that were really captivating and managed to shine. However, that doesn't mean that I like all of them.

Ariel Ling Yi Chen/Xiao Qi 5/5
Unlike most people, I have never liked spunky girls that are "diao man ren xing" such as Xiao Xian Nu from "Xiao Yu Er Yu Hua Wu Que". I've never understood why people are attracted to such girls cause I find their characters fake and clichéd (from overproduction). However, Xiao Qi broke the chain for me. The moment I saw her, I was attracted by her. I think it is because of her atmosphere and "qi zhi". I don't know how to explain it. Usually spunky girls are just spunky and cute and everything, but Xiao Qi also had "qi zhi". Also, she wasn't just one-dimensional diao man ren xing, but had many sides of to her personality. When she smiles, her smile totally fills up my heart and makes me want to pet and snuggle up with her. When she cries, I want to cry to. Seriously, Ariel Lin is one of the actresses that can cry the best. Usually, when an actress cries, I feel that she is only acting because no matter how sad the scene is, she usually only sheds a tear or two calmly (to look pretty when she cries maybe), which is the only proof that she is crying. The rest of her face is just regular as ever. However, when Ariel Lin cries, she SERIOUSLY CRIES. I don't know how else to put it. Her crying scenes such as when people discovered that she was a girl and when she had to leave Di Gua were so real. My friend says that her crying is too dramatic, but seriously, if you were really really sad about something, doesn't it make sense for you to cry with great emotion instead of just calmly dropping a few tears? It just makes sense to me.

Hu Ge/Di Gua 4.5/5
Just like Xiao Qi, Di Gua isn't the type of guy that I would usually like either. He's just a little too slow and weak. However, Hu Ge managed to portray Di Gua in a way where his flaws can be overlooked. Whenever I think of Di Gua, I usually think of his sweet, gentle, and righteous side more than his weak side. However, I still cannot help but take of .5 points for Di Gua's flaws. However, I especially admire Hu Ge for managing to pull off both Di Gua and Li Xiao Yao so well. Whenever I look at Di Gua, I cannot relate him to the Li Xiao Yao that flirts and plays around with girls. Seriously, although Hu Ge isn't of my favorite styles, I just cannot stop saying that HE'S SUCH A GOOD ACTOR. There was this interview where a host asked Hu Ge to respond and turn his head around as Di Gua and Li Xiao Yao when someone calls his name. His portrayals of both are natural but yet drastically different. Di Gua's "yang sheng" (glance) especially caught my eyes. Just as Hu Ge said that he aimed to, he totally captured the steadiness, righteous, honest, and sweet aspects of Di Gua right in his glance. It's all in his eyes.

Bobby Dou/Shang Guan Hao qi 5/5
I have liked Bobby Dou ever since I watched him in this drama called "Yan Yu Jiang Nan". It wasn't such a famous drama and he wasn't the main character, but he still managed to catch my eyes. He totally captured the essence of the proud, aloof, but sweet Shang Guan Hao Qi. His struggles and pains were well-developed and portrayed in a clear, but yet un-melodramatic way. When he is in trouble or pained, he doesn't throw a fit or droop into utter despair (unfortunately like Di Gua does), but he manages to act his regular self, but yet still portray his sorrow in a subtle way. As he said to Di Gua, even if he is in trouble, he accepts his fate and battles it in his own way, though it may not be the most conventional way. His love with Xue Hai was just beautiful and Hao Qi is actually the first man that I don't mind having an affair with two girls. If there is any problem I have with this character, it's his temporary cruelty towards his friends upon first realizing his bitter fate. The scene where he killed Li Yong, one of his best friends, was just forced. I know he needed 30 more hearts, but that doesn't mean that he absolutely needed to kill his friend. Also, I was annoyed at the time when he knew that Di Gua was in jail but yet he was still loitering around in Jing Cheng. It's probably the director's mistake, but one moment he was like "Di gua is in jail. Wait for me. I will save him" and the next moment he was like "Oh, why should I go back if they all think that I failed." He totally forgot Di Gua, who luckily had caring parents that later sacrificed everything to save him.

Han Xue/Xiang Xue Hai 5/5
After watching Han Xue in this drama called "Fei Dao You Jian Fei Dao" as a wicked old woman that insists on being young, I've established the idea that Han Xue can only act sickening roles. However, Han Xue's portray of Xue Hai changed all of my views. I was totally stunned by the beauty and dreamy atmosphere of Xue Hai and how she and Hao Qi managed to pull off such a beautiful and sweet love story even though she isn't necessarily Hao Qi's best love. (it pains me to admit this) The poem dedicated to them was just beautiful also:

Lu jing ying xiang chu, The road ends in the hidden scent,
Pian ran xue hai jian. And twirls of the ocean of snow.
Mei hua Ren yo zai, The plum blossoms are still present,
Xue hai he chu xun? But where to find Xue Hai?

Lui Yi/Li Sai Jing 2/5
As you can see from the rating, I totally dislike this character. Actually, I have no problem with this actress, and think that she's beautiful and sweet, but I found her portrayal of Sai Jing so evil and sickening. Yes, Sai Jing is an innocent cute girl that doesn't care about anything but her "Shang Guan Gong Zi" and her tragic tragic story about how she was dumped by Shang Guan Gong Zi. She seems like a strong girl that is willing to "ku qi xing zhi, lao qi jing gu, e qi ti fu" (train her will, work her body, starve herself) in order to be with Hao Qi, but actually, she's a weak girl that would immediately burst into tears whimpering "No, No, No…" upon reading Hao Qi's letter telling her that they're going to break up. I know it's sad, but at that point, they hardly did anything together yet and her reaction was way to weak and sassy. I would forgive her if that's the end of her flaws. What's more despicable is that she has a cruel and selfish heart under her seemingly cute ad innocent outer image. Let me just briefly explain some reasons for saying this. First of all, the first time I felt this rage because of Sai Jing was the day her mother died. It was only daytime that her mother died for her, but by nighttime, she voluntarily asked Hao Qi to stay and SPEND THE NIGHT WITH HER!!!!!!!!! Now, this isn't just an issue of filiopiety, but also the issue of morality and pride. I don't care if Xue Hai stole Hao Qi away from Saijing because she did it before Sai Jing and Hao Qi got married. On the other hand, our kind, gentle, innocent Miss Sai Jing decides to lure the husband of another woman on the same day of the death of her mother!

Also, I hated Sai Jing for volunteering to help Xue Hai retrieve hearts for Hao Qi. I know it's because she loves Hao Qi, but I cannot stand Sai Jing's seemingly righteous tone. She's keeps on emphasizing that "It's for Hao Qi" as if it's a good reason to kill. Unlike Xue Hai who shows pain and remorse for killing, Sai Jing continuously displays herself as righteous for everything she does just because "It's for Hao Qi." And lastly, after Xue Hai sacrificed her last life to save Sai Jing (I'm not touched about Sai Jing saving Xue Hai cause she obviously did t for Hao Qi, not Xue Hai) Sai Jing left the dying Xue Hai on the floor and her first thought is "If Xue Hai is dying, then what about Hao Qi." She cares nothing about her savior but cares only for Hao Qi. And when Hao Qi finally comes and wants to see Xue Hai for the last time, she decides to tag along. Luckily Xiao Qi stopped Sai Jing. Okay, my rage for her is building again. If I only rate her in terms of like and dislike instead of analysis, I would probably give her a 0 or the most a .5. The reason why Sai Jing actually got 2 out of 5 is 1) I don't dislike the actress, 2) Sai Jing actually showed some genuine happiness when Xiao Qi and Di Gua got together. That's what earned her the two whopping points.

TAE/Fu Yuan Bao 4/5
I don't care as much for this character, but he does have many sweet moments. I thought Tae's performance was extremely good. He managed to pull off the playful and serious parts of Yuan Bao very well. There are times where he just can't stop making you laugh and other times where he can be genuine and serious. I didn't care that much about his romance with Cui Niang but he did have a few memorable moments with his father, played by Zhao Liang. I am easily touched by family love and therefore, really enjoyed the sweet moments between him and his father after his father suffered from a stroke.

Florance Chen/Cui Niang 2.5/5
I don't think much of her character. She's pretty cute at times, but most of the time, she drags the plot a little bit. She managed to add to the comedy aspects along with TAE though.

Guo Fei Li/Xiao Er 3.5/5
I really liked her atmosphere in this drama. Most of the time, she's just standing in the background but she still manages to captivate you. I really like how she has a sad story but yet she isn't melodramatic all the time. Her sadness just blends in the background instead of hitting you right in the face and dragging the plot.

Xie Jun Hao/Lao Fu Zi 2.5/5
Unfortunately, he is the opposite of his lover, Xiao er. He pulls off many commotions just to show just how sad he is, including getting drunk at a restaurant even though he's a scholarly figure, jumping into the lake because he's trying to kill brain cells to forget Xiao er, dying his white hair black, etc. Oh, and how could I forget those countless scenes where he's just holding Xiao Er's pin in the night, and following its glow with the melodramatic ooohhhh music in the background and usually ending up nowhere. Please don't get me started. The only times where I liked him were when he actually showed some prestige as a teacher (fu zi) and managed to act like a mature fatherly figure instead of an old man that just doesn't want to admit that he's aging and his lover isn't.

Xue Er/Ma Na Na 0.5/5
I'm actually surprised by the fact that someone can actually have a lower rating than Sai Jing, but Ma Na Na was highly dislikable. Compared to her, Sai Jing is like a saint. She especially annoyed me when she put the magic potion over Di Gua's eyes to make him love her even though she knows that her friend Xiao Qi is Di Gua's lover.

Xin Ba 4/5
I don't know the name of this actor but he played Mend Dan in "Huang Zhu Ge Ge II". I have to say he has a horrible name which stopped my friend and I from feeling sad for his death because Ma Na Na (who also has a horrible name) was yelling "Xin Ba, Xin Ba" (Simba, Simba). I just couldn't feel sad. But otherwise, he's a very very good friend (much better than Na Na or Sai Jing) as he genuinely cares for others and tries his best to help those that he could help. Such a nice guy!

Xiao Qi and Di Gua Scenes 5/5

I just needed a big special section devoted to them. I just love them too much. They are one of the sweetest couples that I have met and for some reason, I feel that they are just meant for each other. Seriously, there is no other man that would love Xiao Qi like Di gua does. Just as Xiao Qi says: "Besides Di Gua, who would like me?" And there is no other girl that would love Di Gua, protect him, care for him, like Xiao Qi would. I've listed a few of my favorite scenes of them:

1. The first time they actually met. Di Gua asks who Xiao Qi is and she answers "Wo jiu shi na liu chi qi cun" (I'm that six feet seven inches) because when she saw Di Gua's kite with the question "How tall are you?" she thought he was referring to her instead of the sky. It's cute enough that she answered in that way, but Di Gu then repeats "Ni jiu shi na liu chi qi cun?" (you're that six feel seven inches) *note that six feet seven inches is no where close to our six feet seven inches* Both of them are so cute.
2. The scene where Xiao Qi is about leave the Dong family because she was complaining that they were mean to her (which is not true. She was just angry because she thought Di Gua was going to marry Sai Jing. Arg. That Sai Jing!). The way she said "Xiao Qi doesn't want to leave anymore" to the Tu di gong gong was just so cute. And the way she asked Di Gua to do three things for her in order for her to not leave was so cute too on both of their sides. I especially liked how she asked Di Gua to do her homework and when Di Gua rejected she was like "Xiao Qi is really gonna leave" but repeated it three times until she gave in and said "You don't have to do it" I also loved what she said when it started raining. Her facial expression and words were priceless: "Let us be nourished together. Let us mature together. Let us withstand the horrible weather, be bombarded by wind and rain, and become stronger." I don't think anyone can understand what I mean by priceless unless you watch that scene. Actually the whole scene was just priceless
3. Cheng nuo de gai zhang (Stamp of Promise)- I actually don't want to ruin this scene for anyone so I won't go into the specifics.
4. The night before Xiao Qi has to go back with Er Lang Sheng the second time. Di Gua doesn't seem to understand the severity of their situation but Xiao qi is really sad and said "Di gua… cong cong (so quick). Why is it only until we have to leave each other that I realize that I've never appreciated the happy days we've had together. I've always thought that today's happiness would extend to tomorrow, and after tomorrow, there's still tomorrow." That scene was just so sad especially with the flute opening of the song "Tian Liang Yi Hou"
5. The scene where Di Gua gets hit by the pendant that Xiao Qi threw 90 days ago and faints. It was so sad how Xiao Qi was like "Why does Xiao Qi always hurt Di Gua?"
6. Both scenes where Xiao Qi puts Di Gua to sleep before she starts to work on her cloths and palace for Yuang Bao's father.
7. The scene where Xiao Qi finds Di gua after the Na Na puts the love potion on him so that he would fall in love with the first girl he sees. Luckily, he sees Xiao Qi first. Their exchange was so sweet and touching.
Xiao qi: "Na Na put magical potion on your eyes so that you'll fall in love with the first person you see, but the way you're looking at me isn't any different"
Di Gua: "That's because before I put on the potion, I was already in love with you, so after I put on the potion, there won't be any difference. I will always only love Xiao Qi"
Xiao Qi then jumps in Di gua's arms.
8. The scene where Xiao Qi found out that she was pregnant and ran over to tell Di Gua. The happiness there was so full that I couldn't help but feel extremely happy and satisfied for them even though I know that they're going to leave each other.
9. The scene where Xiao Qi is heartbroken after Yu Di tells her that she has to leave Di Gua even though she has his baby. Xiao Qi: "I don't want to leave. I want to give birth to bao bao (baby). I want to take care of bao bao with Di Gua. I don't want to be alone. We're yi jia ren, Yi jia ren ah! (a family)" That was the first scene I cried for in "Tian Wai Fei Xian". Xiao Qi's words were just so full of despair and sorrow that I couldn't help it. And for some reason the term "yi jia ren" really touched me though it's such a common term.
10. Xiao Qi leaves Di Gua. I don't want to go into detail just in case people would want to check it out for themselves.

Music 5/5
I'm really amazed about how this director could choose such superb songs for his dramas. Starting in "Xian Jing Qi Xia Zhuan", he managed to choose popular songs that fit in perfectly with the dramas. Actually, as this director is known for his trends, he also has a trend in music. (not that it's not good). First of all, for both dramas start with a song sung by a woman. In "Xian Jian Qi Xia Zhuan", it was "Sha Po Lang" by JS and in "Tian Wai Fei Xian", it's "Yi Yan Wang Nian" (A Blink In Ten Thousand Years). Next, he always makes Hu Ge sing two songs, one semi-rhythmic (such as Liu Yue De Yu in XJQXZ and "Tian Liang Yi Hou" in TWFX) and one very calm ("Xiao Yao Tan" in XJQXZ and "Yue Guang" in TWFX). Then, he gets another guy to sing the ending song ("Zhong Yu Ming Bai" in XJQXZ and "Qian Nian Lei" in TWFX). I just thought it was interesting and wanted to point it out.

As I was saying, the songs were superb though. Yi Yan Wang Nian was sung nicely by SHE. It accurately displays the bitter sweetness of the drama and the lyrics reflect Xiao Qi and Di Gua's love very well, especially the line "Wo men tai jue jiang, lian tian dou bu ren fan dui" (We're so stubborn that even heaven can't bear to go against us). The ending song "Qian Nian Lei" is also a superb song. I've been in love with TANK's songs after hearing this song. He has such a flexible voice. The lyrics also accurately represent Xiao Qi and Di Gua especially the line "Qian shi wei liao de juan lian, zai wo xue yie li fen lie, cheng shui zhong chang mian, qing xing you huan mie." (The yearning that hasn't ending in our last life, breaks open in my veins, running even during hibernation, wakes up then disappears). "Yue Guang" is also a pretty good song. Its chorus is boring, but its verses are very soothing to listen to. And last but not least, my all-time favorite song "Tian Liang Yi Hou"was written by TANK (thank you TANK) and sung by Hu Ge. I didn't think much when I first listened to this song but as I listened to it more and more times, I couldn't help but love it. It has a superb melody and lyrics that displays Xiao Qi and Di Gua the best:

The bridge in front of the restaurant, maybe we both can't get there
A bitter laugh with no reason, only torture
The embrace that I've practices for many times, we can't see after sunrise
Can't stay by yours side until you're old, until you're old
I don't know, who else can you rely on like me
I only hope, you will remember how good I am

After sunrise, I can never hold your hand anymore
After sunrise, I will gradually leave your dream
I don't dare to say, I just can't say goodbye
After sunrise, what reason do I have to make you stay
After sunrise, the only thing left is loneliness
Don't be sad, let all the pain be silently withstood by me

I thought I would be able to achieve it, hold you until the sky and earth turn old
Loving you, I feel proud, anything is good
Anticipating your embrace, maybe the chances are too slim
Pouring tears with a bitter smile, how am I to escape?
How can an empty dream write our "from now on"
Holding your hand tight, we cannot see the end of goodbye

Conclusion

By this time, you would probably know how much I just love this drama and how much I would recommend it to you so I will stop with my praises and give some precautions. Do not watch this drama if 1) You don't like dramas that have the main focus revolving on love. 2) If you need to watch amazing martial arts. Seriously, most of the martial arts within this drama are the battles between Di Gua and Hao Qi (both of whom just miraculously happen to be extremely skilled). Martial arts fans are not going to be happy. 3) You can't stand the adaptations of traditional tales. But otherwise, "Tian Wai Fei Xian" is a perfect drama to watch. It had a great impact on me even after I watched it for a long time.
