Tian Wai Fei Xian (Fairy From Wonderland)

This is the perfect series for me. The combination of quirky Chinese humor and sappy love scenes were done better by "Tian Wei Fei Xian" (TWFX) than any other series.

Hu Ge is definitely my favorite actor right now, I like how cheerful he is all the time and how he pulls off everything so easily (being arrogant, humble, jealous, etc). I can't wait to see him in the upcoming "Legend of the Condor Heroes" (LOCH). I've seen all of Hu Ge's series by now, so I probably won't be watching many series until then.

Ariel Lin is very cute, but her eyes remind me of Barney Rubble's (I always think she has black dots with no white stuff, sorry for the lack of optometry vocabulary). Her smile is absolutely incredible, I feel happier every time she smiles. Pretty much her whole face with all her baby fat lifts up when she does this, super cute.

Sai Jin's story was depressing. I think I would smile like Sai Jin only after climbing Mount Everest or enduring some physical hardship continuously for years. Ri Yi pulled off the character brilliantly imo. I feel that her character is actually the worst off in the series, she spent a total of what, 1 day with SGHQ?

Yuan Bao really made the series entertaining with his humor. Every time I see him and his "wife" I know there's fun stuff coming up. He helps keep the series light despite all the surrounding drama.

Han Xue/Cecilia was an okay Xue Hai. I feel as if her face had been botoxed or something. Half the time she's expressionless, although I vaguely remember her acting similarly in PZXY. It's a shame there are so few pretty Chinese actresses that can actually control their facial muscles. I remember Liu Yi Fei being equally expressionless throughout "Return of the Condor Heroes 2006".

I think the deaths were handled very well throughout the series. Most of it was to sacrifice for someone else instead of stupidly charging after the enemy (like Da/Er Lang did in "Young Warriors") or something. I was absolutely stunned when Dong Yong lost his parents, never saw it coming.

The breakup scenes were also done well. The first big one with Er Lang Shen as Xiao Qi's dad was prolonged and heartbreaking. I was very impressed when Er Lang Shen threw the magic coated dagger at Dong Yong near the end to rush Xiao Qi. Extended breakup scenes kill any series for me whenever they occur late into them.

The only frustrating part of the series is the 100 days limit at the end. It wasn't clear on why this had to be the case in the series, so I read an explanation of this somewhere else but didn't remember it being very helpful.

At least 9/10 overall. Li Guoli has really stepped up the directing since "Chinese Paladin" (which, in comparison, I would give 6.5/10). The new LOCH should be a treat.
