Synopsis Review: Warning! Spoilers!

The story starts off with Chen Zi Zhen (Chen Zhen) framed for assassinating Shanghai's richest man's wife. In order to save her love Zi Zhen, Fang ZiYi (Lou Hai Qiong) went to her best friend's uncle for help. There she met Li Ying Qi(Lu Yi), who was a doctor in training and also her best friend's cousin/fiance. Ying Qi saw her and fell for her at first sight. They were able to persuade the uncle and Chen Zi Zhen was finally released innocent.

The rich man's godson, while Chen Zi Zhen was in jail, went to his clock place and broke all the clocks. So in anger, Zi Zhen went to the rich man's family, the Du's Manor, and started a commotion unless the Du can pay back all that they ruined. There he met the Du's daughter Du Xin Yu (Zhou Xun) who was actually crazy, and never ever talked to her father after the murder of her uncle. But after meeting Zi Zhen she started falling for him, and he too liked her. Zi Zhen's girlfriend ZiYi started getting jealous of Xin Yu, not knowing that she was crazy, and it led to a break up between them.

Ying Qi started courting the heartbrokened ZiYi and they started dating and even got married. But his jealous cousin gave ZiYi no space and forced her to leave YingQi, leading it to a divorce for YingQi and ZiYi. Xin Yu's mental illness got worse after Zi Zhen's disappearance, and finally he reappeared. According to the doctor, she has a big chance of being cured if someone special appears in her life, meaning Zi Zhen. So the father got them to live peacefully in the countryside until she was fully cured. She did, so after they came back, they got married. However, their marriage didn't last very long after Xin Yu starts to wonder if her husband and ZiYi still has feelings for each other.

Coincidentally, after ZiYi's divorce with YingQi, she was very upset and depressed, Zi Zhen came to see her and she cried in his arms. Xin Yu saw the whole thing and thought there was something between them. She felt that was her fault, because in the first place she fell for him, if she didn't, they would've already have a happy life. So she disappears the next day and and got everyone worried. On the other side of the show, YingQi's cousin realized that no matter what, YingQi would always love ZiYi, so she committed suicide by shooting herself. After realizing that his cousin was always there for him and loved him that much, YingQi married her dead body and vowed never to marry again. Xin Yu's disappearance was big and no one found her. Her father, Master Du, in anger, got a pistol and went to Zi Zhen's clock place. There he shot him and everyone else in the shop including ZiYi and the workers, and then he was shot himself by another person. The show ends showing where Xin Yu went: She became a nun in a very peaceful nunnery in the mountains. While YingQi, after marrying his cousin, left for America.
