Hu Ge is a Chinese actor and singer, probably best known for the television series Chinese Paladin. Hu Ge was born in 1982, a native of Shanghai and a theater student there. After a number of stepping-stone roles Hu Ge was chosen for the role he is still most associated with, Li Xiaoyao, who is the central figure and male lead of Chinese Paladin. Based on the role-playing game, The Legend of Sword and Fairy, the first season of Chinese Paladin aired in 2005, made Hu Ge an international star, and the prequel second season aired in 2009. In 2006 Hu Ge suffered a tragic road accident in China which required a year of physical recovery and delayed the release of The Legend of the Condor Heroes television series. The actor also has made a number of movies, and became known as a singer based on his work in Chinese Paladin. In 2008 he released his first full-length album.
