Huang Xiao Ming is one of Mainland China's most popular actor and singer. After appearing in a few Chinese TV series, Huang Xiao Ming became very popular after starring as Yang Guo in Zhang Ji Zhong's 2006 adaptation of "Return of the Condor Heroes" opposite Liu Yi Fei as Xiao Long Nu. The drama was received with mixed reviews, some appreciating the artistic filming while others criticizing it for its heavy emphasis on the artsy atmosphere and less on the wuxia plot and characterization. Nevertheless, the drama cemented Huang as the next go-to male star in Chinese dramas.
Huang Xiao Ming continued to garner praise and fans after starring as Xu Wen Qiang in "Shanghai Bund", the remake of TVB's classic "The Bund". Chow Yun Fat reportedly gave him advice on how to play this iconic character that made Chow a household name in the 1980s.
Aside from acting, Huang Xiao Ming is also testing his popularity in the music industry. His first album is titled "It's Ming".
