Sypnosis

Kiritani Shuji is the most popular guy in the whole entire school. He gets along with everyone, from the jerks to the nerds, everyone loves him. He is dating this girl called Uehara Mariko just to boost up his popularity a bit more. However, Shuji is just another one of those people who want to be popular, the real him is just a boring guy. The one person that Shuji does not like is Kusano Akira. To Shuji, he is just annoying. He laughs, talks and acts funny. Shuji has a daily routine of touching a willow tree for good luck. One day while he went to do his daily routine, he was frightened to see a scary looking girl telling him that people removed his willow tree, she told him that she was planning to hang herself from that tree. Shuji got scared and ran away.

Things start happening when a new girl comes to school. Shuji is shocked to find out that that girl was the girl from the day his willow tree dissapeared. Her name is Kutani Nobuko, she has no self-confidence and is made fun of at school.Shuji and Akira get together and try to make Nobuko the next popular girl in school but in one condition, no one finds out that they are working together.

While Nobuko starts to get popular, a mysterious girl ruins everything and gets in the way of Nobuko being popular. The mystery unfolds from time to time. Here is the story of true friendship that would not have been together if not given the special opportunity of producing.

Characters

Kamenashi Kazuya as Kiritani Shuji:
What can I say? I cannot say he acted well and I can not say he acted horrible. It's either he has poor expressions or over does it. But as you watch more episodes, his acting starts improving and so on. Overall, I only rate him a 3/5 on acting.

Yamashita Tomohisa as Kusano Akira:
Wow! Yamashita sure acted Akira well. It is good to see an annoying and kiddish side to Yamashita. He did his scenes very well and showed lots of expressions in his acting. His expressions were so real and were not forced. I rate him a 4.5/5 on acting.

Horikita Maki as Kutani Nobuko:
Maki will always be a wonderful actress. She was the best actress in the whole drama. It is hard to act like Kutani Nobuko because she is a shy and emo-like girl. Maki was absolutely perfect for the role! I rate her a 5/5 on acting.

Theme song

The theme song Seishun Amigo by Kamenashi and Yamashita is just amazing! That song was so fit for the drama. Once you hear the song, you will love it. The beat is so awesome and catchy, very different from other theme songs.

Conclusion

Overall, this drama was very enjoyable and tearjerking at the same time. The ending is surprising and sad. Well watch it to see how good it is because it is highly recommended. Very funny and amusing.
