Plot: (*WARNING: SPOILERS*)
Joon Suh and Eun Suh thought themselves to be brother and sister, starting from when Eun Suh was born. But later on when they are 14 years old it, is found out that Eun Suh isn't actually Joon Suh's parents' real daughter. An incident occurred leading to Eun Suh and another baby girl to be switched and they had never known. Eun Suh's real parents and real brother are a poor family living in terrible conditions. The two daughters eventually switch back to their 'real families'. Joon Suh's family decides to move away and Eun Suh misses Joon Suh and her foster parents very much.
A couple of years later, Joon Suh goes back to Korea to search for Eun Suh. It takes a long time for Joon Suh to find Eun Suh, who is working at a hotel for a man named Tae Suk. Tae Suk likes to tease girls and he is the 'playboy' type of guy, but he falls in love with Eun Suh and this changes him. But unbeknownst to Tae Suk, his friend, Joon Suh is Eun Suh's foster brother.
Through the friendship Tae Suk and Joon Suh have, Joon Suh and Eun Suh meet again. They are very happy to see each other again but complications occur when they start having feelings for one another. Joon Suh has a fiancee named Yu Mei and Eun Suh has begun dating Tae Suk, so the feelings they begin to have for each other form a love square where four people are effected. Joon Suh's parents also find it hard to accept Eun Suh and Joon Suh's feelings for each another and object to them having a relationship. Problems arise and Eun Suh and Joon Suh are tearing apart because they want to take other people's interests at heart.
The ending is very emotionally depressing with Eun Suh dying from illness and Joon Suh committing suicide after her funeral.
Comments:
Plot-
I think that the plot is very good and it is very unique because I haven't seen a story like this before. I liked the plot but I didn't like the ending because I felt that it was too sad and I didn't like it how it ended with people's deaths. I also disliked how Eun Suh didn't really accept Tae Suk at the end and how her heart always was with Joon Suh. Even though the feelings she had for her foster brother were not controllable, I thought that her choosing Tae Suk over Joon Suh would be much better. Tae Suk really did love her and Joon Suh was already engaged. The great love Tae Suk had for her was amazing, I thought that any girl would be completely touched by the love he showed for her. He was always there for her, by her side, when she needed comfort or assistance with anything.
Cast-
Song Seung Hun - Chui Joon Suh
I think that Song Seung Hun did a great job in his role as Joon Suh. He created a lot of depth in his character. When he stood his ground to be with Eun Suh, it showed that his character was emotionally troubled between his parents, fiancee, friend and Eun Suh but he was still determined to stick with Eun Suh. This was why I liked his character. Though I think that his responsibility with Yu Mei was lost when he committed suicide, I guess he felt he had no option because he found that his true love was Eun Suh instead of Yu Mei, so he didn't want to live without her presence.
Song Hye Kyo - Chui Eun Suh
I loved Song Hye Kyo's performance as Eun Suh because I found her character very meaningful. She was a very warm person and I was very sad to see her die. When Song Hye Kyo cried, it was really depressing and I could feel her character's sadness. Eun Suh seemed like the submissive character, but afterwards I realised she was an assertive yet emotional woman. When Tae Suk hid a watch and told her to look for it, she was angry at him and this surprised me at first because she didn't seem like the type of character to show anger and confront others. Her love for Joon Suh was very great and she showed this wonderfully in the scenes where they were together. It was lovely because it was obvious from their eyes that they truly loved each other very much.
Won Bin - Hang Tae Suk
I also really liked Won Bin in this series because he showed his character's love for Eun Suh wonderfully! I am sure that everyone will be touched by his love for her because he truly changed after falling in love with her. I think that Won Bin demonstrated his character's personality very well. Tae Suk was a rich man and it was very hard for him to accept that Eun Suh didn't want to be with him because as a rich person, he usually got what he wanted. He constantly showed frustration over the fact that she chose him over her foster brother. His performance was very well done.
Conclusion:
I recommend this series to everyone because it is very touching. But I wouldn't recommend it to people that do not like sad and depressing series or movies because they will not like it. People should definitely watch it if they are fans of any of the cast. They all did a great job and you will love their characters, especially Song Hye Kyo and Won Bin's characters.
