If you are allowed to watch only one drama, Guardian Angel is “the” one!

Guardian Angel is so successful because the story itself was very good, very entertaining. It was superbly directed and cast, and had one of the best scripts ever written. Even though the story was simple and even seemed similar to the usual Korean dramas, there were lots of twists and surprises which made the drama so enjoyable and had the viewers glued to the screen. The plots were so well-written that they brought all parts of the story together, interlocking every character and incident to one another, with some climaxes here and there. All the elements of a good drama: friendship, love, double-crossing, scheming, suspense, surprise, growing up were included.

The romance between the male and female leads developed gradually, instead of the love-at-first-sight routine you see in many Korean dramas. It's quite rare to see their relationship growing and developing from dislike to love, taking into consideration their different status and backgrounds. They met, had fights, helped each other, were being pushed around, separated, made up and reunited.

Of course, I must give credit to Kim Min Jong. As Tai Yong, Min Jong makes for one of the most impressive screen heroes ever seen. He must have put a lot of effort in creating this character, and bringing him to life. He portrayed all kinds of emotions in a expressive way. His expressions were so convincing that you may be embarrassed by the way he walks and talks, spits on the ground and fights - when he was a bouncer for a nightclub. He could be tough when facing his enemy and yet be so tender and caring where Xiao Xiao (played by Song GH) was concerned. You could feel the pain he was going through when his love left him. Min Jong wasn’t just good in love scenes, he created all kinds of charisma during scenes with his uncle, his friends and even a small child. You could feel the chemistry he had with his different co-stars and there was never a dull moment. Through his conversations with the little girl, the audience could feel the magic between them. In fact, these two made for some of the most memorable dialogues in this drama.

If Min Jong hadn’t played Tai Yong, the drama wouldn’t have been half as enjoyable!
