Jewel in the Palace (Dae Jang Geum)

Overall, it's a wonderful drama. I absolutely enjoyed it through and through. The acting was great--Lee Young Ae and Ji Jin Hee nailed their roles, and so did the others. I thought that Keum Young was a bit too subtle, and I couldn't tell what she was thinking sometimes with her 'looks.' It was sad that I didn't see the other side of Lady Choi until the very end, but I liked the end a lot. The scenes with the food--whoa, they're mouth watering. I loved how Lee Young Ae just talked as if she knew the whole human body one hundred and fifty percent. the scenes with her and Min Jung Ho were really sweet, and I loved them. The music was also great, the love song was good. The storyline was just so captivating that I wanted to watch all 54 episodes at once! It's definitely an edge of the seat drama, and the parents at the beginning created a great atmosphere of love. Jang Geum is really pretty, just to mention, and Min Jung Ho was pretty hot too.

Anyway, the drama has a lot of second meanings, so it actually gives you a lot to think about. Well, I know it gave ME a lot to chew on. About what true love is, what true friendship is, etc.

GREAT drama. I loved it, to say the least. I recommend all to watch it--well, if you like a ton of fighting and stuff like that, maybe you won't like it. I think it shows the strength of women. It's not about fighting, it's about quiet strenth and intelligence. That's Jang Geum, and that's why she gets to be called the GREAT Gang Geum.
