Stairway to Heaven

Synopsis:
Cholo and Jodi are childhood friends. Friendship turned into love for one another. But one tragedy change their lives.

After five years Cholo is now a successful president of their company but still caught in the memories of Jodi whom he thinks is dead. Cholo decided to forget Jodi but then he sees Jodi at the carousel and tries all possible ways to get her back and regain her love from Tristan. But Jodi has amnesia and doesn't remember anything. But later on she is able to bring back her memories and reunite with Cholo.

But Yunice and her mean mother Ms. Maita will make it difficult for Cholo and Jodi to be together again. And like any other love story they fight for their love and married. At that time Jodi was blind because of her eye cancer. Tristan who revealed the truth behind the disappearance of Jodi, is happy for her, but not fully because of Jodi's blindness. So Tristan decides to donate his eyes but the doctor sys that the donor must be dead so he gets into a car accident and is able to transfer his eyes to Jodi.

A very tragic story I guess because after her eye cancer it turned into a brain tumor and she's dying.

Negative points of view:
1. How come in the accident they didn't actually check if the dead body was really Jodi? I mean they can do an autopsy for that.
2. Why Cholo continued the engagement with Yunice if he really loved Jodi.
3. Why Jodi kept running away with Cholo and ran after Tristan if she really loved Cholo.

Favourite scenes:
1. When Jodi and Cholo kissed at the ice skating rink.
2. When Cholo gave Jodi an inexpensive ring at the beach because he was fired as a president and didn't have any money at all, that was sweet!
3. When Cholo and Jodi slept together.
4. When Jodi and Cholo played at the football field.

The cast:
Kwon Sang Woo (Cholo) - a very good-looking guy. I can't resist his charm as in every episode, he shines. He is a good actor as well because he portrays his role very well. I like him being serious and then naughty at times. I really, really like him.

Choi Ji Woo (Jodi) - a good actress too. I have watched most of her drama, Winter Sonata. But I think she's prettier in Winter Sonata than here. But I gave her a two thumbs up because she makes me cry.

Shin Hyun Joon (Tristan) - I don't like him, he's not good looking (sorry, that's my opinion). But in acting, he was all right.

Kim Tae Hee (Yunice) - she's more beautiful than Choi (sorry, that's my opinion again). She was able to portray her role very well. She was able to show the darker side of her just because of her eye movement.

Lee Hui Hyang (Ms. Maita) - she's very mean. Her look really matches her character. Hate her!

Ha Jae Young (Jodi's father, don't know his name in the drama) - I hate his character also for being quiet and not doing anything about the situation. He was not affected at all, I didn't feel he was a good father to Jodi.

If you want a very tragic story, then go for this one. It can really make you cry and also irritated at some point because of the flow of the story. But this is a good Korean drama, that's why it's a fad here in the Philippines!
