Biography

Kwon Sang-woo, born in 1976, is a South Korean model and actor. His acting career started in 2001 with a role in the Korean film noir "Volcano High" and a TV series "Man and Woman". Popularity came to Kwon in 2003 with his role in "My Tutor Friend". Kwon portrayed the protagonist Kim Ji-hoon, a rich kid in need of tutoring. As "My Tutor Friend" combines elements of a romantic comedy with action sequences, it succeeded in attracting broad audience and topped the Korean box office for five weeks. In the same year Kwon was featured in the "Stairway to Heaven", a popular Korean TV drama. During a meeting with Japanese fans he stated that "Stairway to Heaven" was his most memorable drama and that Choi Ji Woo, his romantic interest in the series, is his most memorable partner in drama. Since then Kwon Sang-woo appeared in a number of TV dramas and films, including "Love, So Divine" (2004), where he played a Catholic priest, "Running Wild" (2006), where he appeared as a homicide detective and, most recently "More Than Blue". These films and dramas highlighted Kwon's talent as a romantic hero. In addition to acting Kwon Sang-foo appeared in numerous advertisements.
