Lee Jun Ki is a South Korean actor, model and singer. Born on April 17, 1982, he graduated from the Seoul Institute of the Arts. He is also a third degree Taekwondo. He first became interested in acting while still in high school, and worked hard to gain acceptance at the Seoul Institute of the Arts. Fluent in Japanese, Mandarin Chinese and English, as well as Korean, the Korea Tourism Organization recently appointed Lee as an Ambassador for Korean Tourism. Lee Jun Ki became his public career by modeling, began filming television commercials in 2001, and then in 2004, began landing roles in South Korean television dramas and comedies, as well as in feature films. His overwhelming popularity was sealed with his appearance in the feature film, “The King and the Clown” in 1985. He has also released several popular music albums and videos, and is the winner of numerous acting, modeling and popularity awards in Japan, Hawaii and China, as well as in his native South Korea. His latest endeavor is his portrayal of a modern hero in the new South Korean drama “Hero”, which will begin airing in November 2009.
