Cold Mountain

Outstanding cast, excellent, brilliant, beautiful, and touching.

I love this film. Maybe the movie is a bit too long, but I think Anthony Minghella did a good job telling us the story of the novel. This movie is so touching. It showed us the suffering of the people, the hardship that people had to endure, and how cruel people can be during war. The story teaches us many things about how life can be so cruel and does not turneout what we expected it to be. A must see film to all movie fans who want to see a world-class display from the cast. The characters are loveable. The actors did a great job to make the movie came alive. They're just unbelievable.

Jude Law excellently plays Inman. First in the film, you can see how young, naive, and innocent he is. But later in the film, you can see that he had grown to be more mature. You can see how passionate and how he really into the character later in the film when he talks to Ada. Ok, Sean Penn perfectly deserved the Oscar, but playing Inman is challenging and hard to play as well.

Nicole Kidman did a good job portraying Ada; a rich girl who had to experience the hardship and cruelty of life after her father's death. But I'm a bit disappointed with her performance. Perhaps if she cries more in the film, she will get an Oscar nomination for her performance.

While Renee Zellwager, everyone got to love her after seeing her performance in this movie. She is just so amazing and unbelievable. I don't know how she does that, but her character brings the fun and sparkle to the movie. I just love to see her and of course, she deserved all the honours and awards that she won by playing Ruby. In fact, Renee got all the happy ending. In the film, Ruby is happily married with two children and her father is still alive and live with her. And in real life, she won four prestigious awards by playing Ruby.

This scenery of the movie is beautiful. Romania is the perfect place to portray Cold Mountain. You can see the four seasons in this movie. The songs are beautiful. The story is well told. There're scenes that are very touching. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this movie. It is what I'm expecting it to be. This story is for those people who believe in true love. And like I read in somewhere, it's for people who believe that it's better to love and lost, than not loved at all. Amazing and beautifully-shot movie, no doubt about that...
