WARNING! Spoilers!

Dream Of Colours is an enjoyable series about fashion designing. Michelle (Myolie Wu) is a girl who did not realize her passion was designing clothes for people until she met Nick (Tse Kwan Ho), who turned out to be her instructor on fashion.

Michelle quickly became great friends with two girls named Ella (Sharon Chan) and Fifi (Rain Li), who were graduate students from a fashion designing class in the university. Fifi was more into modelling and Ella was very smart, intelligent, and hardworking. Ella was a girl who had a dream to go to another country such as Canada or America for a chance to be able to learn more about fashion designing and become a successful designer.

When Ella and Michelle worked in the same fashion design company that Nick Yau led, they both succeeded wonderfully, until Ella became jealous and started to plan ways to make Michelle look bad and untrustworthy. The reason why she did this was because she was jealous of Michelle's wonderful creations, despite Michelle's apparent lack of training. She was also angry that her designs were not appreciated by the people in charge, and that Michelle was well-liked by everyone.

There is also a tragedy between Nick and his 10-year girlfriend, Ellaine. (Melissa Ng) Ellaine was not certain, but part of her felt that Nick paid way more attention to Michelle than to her. Soon, she broke up with him because things weren't working out so well.

Cast Comments

Nick Yau: (played by: Tse Kwan Ho) I thought Tse was a very calm actor and his character was likeable, except for the parts when Nick was being so nice to Michelle and forgot about Ellaine, which kind of disappointed me. Overall he was very impressive and he portrayed his role extremely well, like usually. Also, he was great in the "Book and Sword" as well. (You can't really dislike someone who's handsome like him. Haha!)

Michelle (played by Myolie Wu) I thought Myolie's character was completely annoying. I hated the way she dressed, the way her hair looked, and they way she kept on wanting to be by Nick's side. She knew he had a girlfriend. Seriously, someone should tell her how to dress. Her acting, I have to admit, was good, but still, I've never really liked her.

Ella: (played by: Sharon Chan) Ella had a great passion for designing clothes. She got carried away but... it wasn't all exactly her fault. It was partly her co-worker's fault as well because they treated Michelle nicer. Only her boyfriend (played by Kennith Ma) was nice to her. Towards the end, when she got very evil, it was kind of annoying and mean. She got nicer again really quickly, which really surprised me, but overall, her performance was great. Also, the way she talked really reminded me of Tavia Yeung.

Fifi: (played by Rain Li) Fifi was hilarious! Especially when she was with Michelle's brother (played by Lai Lok Yi). She was so much better than when she was in the serial "Lofty Water Verdant Bow". I don't know if modelling was such a good idea for her, but I thought that she and Lai Lok Yi were very cute together.

Ellaine: (played by Melissa Ng) Melissa's character was great. Her clothes were very pretty and elegant. I especially loved her style of bandanas and the hats. I thought her character as "Pao Lin" was unfair. She and Nick Yau should've been together because everything about her was better then Michelle. Anyhow, all of her movies were awesome because she is beautiful and such a talented actress.

My Thoughts
You should watch this series if you want a mini good old TVB classic type of serial because it's really fun and enjoyable. Somehow, I felt this time TVB didn't use a lot of beautiful places to film their parts. It was only the building, houses, etc. Anyway, have an good time watching this series!

Favourite Scene:
When Nick walked on the boat thinking about his break-up with Ellaine, he looked so good there! (but I was sad about the break-up) And whenever Nick (Tse Kwan Ho) is on the screen. Haha.

Favourite Character:
Tse Kwan Ho
