Brief Summary:
Michelle Koo (Myolie Wu) comes back to Hong Kong after being kicked out of school in England. On the same plane was a famous fashion designer, Nick Yau (Tse Kwan Ho). Michelle was nervous about facing her parents and telling them about not finishing school. While her best friend, Donna (Margaret Chung), chats with Nick, Michelle orders double red wine to cool down her nerves and accidentally pours red wine all over Nick's fashion design dress. After arriving at Michelle's house, Donna carried Michelle inside since she pretends to be drunk and blurts out the news to her parents.
Nick invites his master (Myolie's grandfather) to his fashion show and gives him a suit. Nick's master refuses since there was misunderstanding between them, but he ends going to Nick's fashion show anyway. Meanwhile, Michelle got caught carrying drugs and gets punished to do community service. Michelle gets to work at Nee with the help of her grandfather and becomes Nick's student.
At first, Ella (Sharon Chan) hated Michelle for ruining her dress, but despite the misunderstanding, Ella, Michelle and Fei Fei (Rain Li) become good friends. Michelle also helped Sharon get the scholarship to go to a famous fashion design school, yet also caused Sharon to lose the scholarship.
The relationship between Michelle and Nick began to grow and causes poor Elaine to worry. Meanwhile, Ella grows jealous of Michelle and would do anything to get rid of this opponent, and that includes using Siu Long (Kenneth Ma), Nick's brother. Man (Chris Lai), is a bickering pair with Rain, but become friends when both enter Xaga to become a model.
Overall:
The series is refreshing since TVB never did a series about fashion design before, yet the story is quite predictable. Even though Tse Kwan Ho and Myolie have a big age difference, Im amazed at how much chemistry they have together. The ending is satisfactory since Nick confesses his love to Michelle at the last episode! Michelle left for school and Nick promises to wait for her.
Performances:
Tse Kwan Ho I havent seen any series with him before, but his acting was amazing. His chemistry with Myolie was cute, sweet, and innocent. At some point in the series, I felt like he doesnt give much expression. When I watched the trailer, I thought he was ok looking, but after I watched the series, he has this look that makes me attracted to him. You can also check out his other performances in The Book and the Sword 2003 and My Date With a Vampire (ATV). I was hoping he could do another series with TVB, but I doubt it since the rating for this series was low.
Myolie Wu Her acting skills are improving in every series. She looks more mature with the new hairstyle and I love her colorful hairstyle at the beginning of the story. TVB did a bad job dressing up Myolie since her wardrobes in the series was horrible. Her character is way too nice and helpful. She transforms from a wild girl who has no confidence and no goals in life to an independent girl who stands up for herself and finally knows she has the talent to become a fashion designer. Myolie's crying skill was awesome!
Melissa Ng Melissa's acting skill improved greatly and Im starting to like her after Ritches and Stitches. She looks very pretty in here, and it's just sad that she didnt end up with anyone, but she still remains best friends with two men she dated.
Sharon Chan I hated her character! Sharon did a nice job portraying a selfish Ella, and would do anything to achieve her goal. She needs to work on her crying skills because it looks unreal when she cries.
Kenneth Ma Kenneth's acting still needs improvement and he looks extremely old in this series. His scene with Sharon was boring and they have no chemistry with each other.
Rain Li Her acting skill did improve and she has more facial expression than in Lofty Water Verdant Bow. Her character is supposed to be cute, but she exaggerates it way too much. Her hand movement was way too much which caused her to become annoying. Her pairing with Chris Lai was cute and funny every time theyre together.
Chris Lai I havent seen Heart Of Fencing yet; however, Chris did an ok job in here. His brother and sister relationship with Myolie was cute since he always annoys her. He should be Myolie's older brother since he looks older. They look very cute together so let's hope TVB would pair them up in the future.
Margaret Chung Her role was so small! What happen to her? She just disappears!
