Face to Fate

Plot Review (3 out of 5):
This series has an 'ok' plot. I thought the fortune-telling stories were pretty interesting, but otherwise, the plot was nothing special. At certain times I found the series to drag a bit, making me want to skip forward to the end.

Raymond Lam (3.5 out of 5):
I've never really been a fan of Raymond Lam but I will start with him first. Raymond did a decent job as Lai Yeuk Yi. His transformation in the show was pretty good. He was quite convincing once he transformed and the chemistry between him and Selena Li was pretty cute and sweet. One of my most memorable scenes involved Raymond and Selena. I will not spoil it for you but this was one of the romantic scenes between them.

Frankie Lam (4 out of 5):
Frankie did a good job as the fortune teller. As Lee Bo Yi, he was very earnest in doing good and Frankie portrayed this quite well. I find that Frankie seems to always have the same emotions in all his shows so he seems to be typecasted into similar roles all the time. This fortune teller role is a good example of this.

Selena Li (4 out of 5):
This is the first time I'm seeing Selena in a series and I was pleasantly surprised by her performance. I really liked her in this show and she was one of the reasons I continued watching this series to the end. I thought she was very pretty in this show and was very good at portraying the hotel owner.

Tavia Yeung (4 out of 5):
She was quite pretty in this show as usual and I liked her pairing with Frankie. While her character was a bit annoying at times, she did a pretty good job portraying the stubborn and impulsive disciple. I guess it makes sense for her to be paired up with Frankie's character because he was much more patient, thoughtful and calm.

Overall, the ending was a little disappointing. I will try not to reveal too much of the storyline but I was expecting something grander, i.e. for the twist ending not to be so obvious to the viewers. The final fighting scene was a little boring as well.
