Lost in the Chamber of Love

THE STORY
This is a typical TVB love series, so I will not go into detail with the storyline. This series basically shows how two couples go through all the "hard" times and finally prove how much they deserve to be together. Briefly, the story is about Michelle, who is in love with Ron after he rescued her from kidnappers. However, her maid Myolie is also in love with Ron after they met in a Lantern Festival. On the other hand, the emperor Kenneth is attracted to Michelle's beauty. Kenneth tries very hard to get Michelle's attention. Finally, Kenneth manages to get Michelle's attention and without realising, she slowly falls in love with him. At last, Ron also realises that he loves Myolie and not Michelle.

COMMENTS (Warning - Spoilers Ahead)
The ending was as usual, too perfect. The story was also very predictable, and suffered from a lack of climax. The only interesting part was the complicated personalities. However, these complicated personalities and relationships were sometimes too fake for reality. For the theme song, I think Ron and Myolie can't sing at all.

As most of the cast is new, I like to talk more about their performances.

MYOLIE WU
Myolie's performance was good in this show. Her crying scenes were great. She acted so naturally that it made her character so lively and real. I think she has the potential and can still improve.

RON NG (WARNING - Spoilers Ahead)
Ron's performance was very disappointing in this series. Frankly, he was a nobody until he acted in "Triumph in the Skies". From there, he was suddenly a leading actor. I seriously think he lacks of experience and needs to work harder to improve. He totally couldn't make his character come alive. His acting was not spontaneous at all and he was very fake most of the time, especially when he read the poems. This might be mainly because of the character itself. Ron seriously is not suited to be in these love stories. The only outstanding thing about him is his good looks. However, it's not all his fault. He is still new and not very experienced yet. Hence, I think TVB should let him have more supporting roles as practice first before having the leading roles. I believe he can improve much more!

MICHELLE YIP
Her performance was not bad. I have to say that her acting skills are quite consistent. She looked great in her beautiful outfits. She really can carry off the rich girl's image. The only thing she needs to improve is her crying skills. She's been improving though. Michelle can do it and I believe she'll be a great actress in future.

KENNETH MA
I was totally impressed with his acting! He has improved so MUCH. He managed to make his character come alive. He was really romantic and nice in the serial. I think he has the talent and will certainly improve a lot to be one of TVB's great leading actors soon.

NANCY WU
Good!! Nancy's acting was already proven in "Twins of Brothers".
I'll have to second that she can really act! Hope TVB will promote her in future.
