Lost in the Chamber of Love

Plot:
This series 'Lost in the Chamber of Love' is mainly about four people: Michelle, Myolie, Ron and Kenneth. Each of them overcomes many different problems, particularly in their love life. Ron and Michelle were dating at the start, but Michelle's parents forbade it. Her parents would do anything to stop her and Ron from seeing each other.

Kenneth was trying to gain the affections of Michelle and he eventually succeeded, but what Michelle didn't know was that Kenneth was actually the King. Michelle's parents didn't like Ron because they looked down on him since they were rich but he and his family were poor.

Myolie was secretly in love with Ron and finally came to the realisation that she had fallen in love with him. Kenneth's mum wanted Kenneth to marry the princess of another country because they had an agreement with the princess' country, so Kenneth was in a difficult situation. He didn't want to cause any problems between his country and the princess' country, so this was a hard decision for him to make.

There was also a little story about Chan Kwok Pong and Nancy. They fell in love with each other and they cared about each other very much. Chan Kwok Pong was in a gang beforehand but decided to be a new person and not do anymore bad deeds.

Comments -
Plot - I actually loved the plot in this series. What would happen next was quite predictable sometimes, but it is still a beautiful story. The love story and the story about the countries' problems fitted together well near the end. Obviously there was a bit of favouring towards the love story because there was much more screen time for it, but who wouldn't love the cute, romantic scenes that this series had?

Cast -
Michelle Yip - I find that Michelle's acting as a kind, young, rich girl was fantastic in this series. She acted it out very well. Her character obviously cared very much for Kenneth's character. It was very touching the way they would overcome problems together near the end. I think Michelle did a great effort in this series!

Myolie Wu - Myolie's acting is always over satisfactory because her crying scenes are so realistic. The way she can just burst into tears and cry very emotionally is amazing! She is also great at acting as a emotional character. Her smiles are contagious, leaving the audience with smiles on their faces too. Her character was a very caring and kind one. Myolie acted this very well with good facial expressions at the right time.

Ron Ng - Ron acted wonderful in this series but I think that sometimes he appeears to be a bit wooden, just like in the series 'Twin of Brothers' when he is in emotional scenes. But I think that he is great at being cheerful and acting as his character that was very determined to achieve his goals and was clever and helpful. I think that Ron's reciting of poems can be a bit boring if it is done for a long period of time, but when it is done moderately, it is actually nice to listen to.

Kenneth Ma - I think Kenneth was excellent in this series! When he was feeling very down and he was drinking and walking the streets with torn, old clothes he acted depressed very well. He has improved tremendously from 'Dream of Colours' and 'The Driving Power'. I really loved Kenneth Ma in this series. He can seem like a childish person who only likes to play around and then suddenly becomes a very responsible, emotionally troubled person. I hope Kenneth is in more TVB series in future.

Chan Kwok Pong - Chan Kwok Pong can really act splendidly! He is great in 'Wong Fei Hung - Master of Kung Fu' and in this series too! I really loved his sensible, strong and thoughtful character. He always thought of other people's needs too. He also had a large change in surroundings when he went to Ron's shop to make lanterns after deciding not to be involved with the gang anymore. How he adapted to the new surroundings was done brilliantly! I think his pairing with Nancy was very cute! I loved it! I hope TVB gives Chan Kwok Pong more and more series!

Nancy Wu - I think that Nancy wasn't much of a main character in this series but she acted very well as a loving, nice and caring person. She was in love with Chan Kwok Pong's character and they were a funny couple. Her smile is very happy and can light up a room, just like Myolie and Michelle's smiles! Her crying scenes were done nicely too! I think Nancy's character in 'Twin of Brothers' had more depth than her character in this series. I hope she has more chances to act in more series with more screen time in the future at TVB!

Conclusion - I recommend this series to everyone! It is excellent! But I recommend it particularly to people who like genres with romance and a bit of action! TVB fans who have also watched and enjoyed 'Perish in the Name of Love' would be likely to like this series too.
