Storyline:
One day grandpa finds out he has a disease and he is very upset. He decides to let the dad be in charge of the house. The dad makes a lot of rules that his family must obey and changes some of old grandpa's rules. He makes these rules especially for Ah Qing because he always goes out of the house until very late at night. The three brothers have a stricter curfew and more stricter rules to abide by.
Freeman has a dream to become a singer. Many people compliment him often on how well he sings. Grandpa does not like this idea at all and complications arise in the house. Finally the final decision is made by Freeman himself and he decides to make his own dreams come true.
Miki works as a personal assistant for the singers at the music company. She likes to eat a variety of food, especially cakes. Thus begins Miki's own dream of owning a cake shop. Ray learns how to make cakes and gives the recipes and the secret methods to make a delicious cake to Miki because he likes her very much. Miki doesn't know of Ray's feelings for her and she only thinks of him as a great friend.
Freeman and Miki see each other very often because they are both working in the same music company. Miki is Freeman's personal assistant as well as another singer, Akubi's personal assistant. They slowly develop feelings for each other through the time they have spent together.
Meanwhile grandpa visits a centre to treat his disease and forms a great friendship with a nice lady who introduced him to the centre.
Meanwhile the dad is continuously making new rules and Ah Qing is doing his best to mock and avoid obeying the ridiculous rules.
Comments:
Storyline - I think the storyline did not really interest me throughout the first few episodes but after that the storyline progressed further. It became more interesting and was a different type of serial to watch. I think the storyline is pretty good because it doesn't drag on and it is very funny too!
Cast -
Chung King Fai - I think Chung King Fai was very funny in this series. He could make funny jokes and be serious at certain times throughout the series. He did a wonderful job and I think he acted amazingly! His facial expressions were really good when he found out he had a disease and found it very hard to deal with. I reckon he should be in more TVB series in the future! I laughed at most of his jokes because they were just too hilarious!
Ha Yu- Ha Yu has acted in many series and I think that he wasn't much of a main character in this series. But I really enjoyed watching most of the scenes he was in because he was also very funny in them. His rules that he made for his three sons were also really hilarious! I think that Ha Yu did a good job in this series. Towards the end his character had a lot of meaning and he really showed that he had learnt a lesson. I think that Ha Yu is good at funny moments.
Rebecca Chen - I think Rebecca was the 'softie' of the series' characters. She was always very kind and fair to everyone and their point of views. She is also quite funny too. I think that without her in this series, it wouldn't be as good because she portrayed her character very well from start to end. Her character is very different from the one in 'A Handful of Love'. The character she portrays here is obviously much more mature and caring.
Hawick Lau - I liked Hawick in this series because I enjoyed his singing! His songs were really nice to listen to. I also like his character. Hawick made his character smart, helpful and really witty too. When he eventually began dating Shirley in the series, I didn't really like his character because of the way he treated her. But later on it was understandable since he and Shirley were very different and it was hard for him to manage everything. I liked his character because he had a lot of feelings and reasons for his actions. I think his acting was very good and I hope to watch more series of him as a good character too.
Alex Fong - Alex's character was always so kind and nice. He was nice to everyone and I felt very sorry for this character when people took advantage of his goodness. He is too generous and caring! I think that Alex portrayed his character fantastically because I think that he was funny and also a kind, serious person as well. Alex is really cute! I think his love for Shirley will touch many viewers' hearts.
Sam Chan - I really liked Sam in this series even though he wasn't in as much scenes as the other two brothers. This is because he can be so funny in a very natural way! His acting is very natural and I think that he is so hilarious! He and Ha Yu have a very good 'father and son' chemistry. I think that he should be in other TVB series in the future too because he acted wonderfully in this series.
Shirley Yeung - I think Shirley was pretty good in this series. She acted realistically most of the time and I think she is a character that the audience will understand easily. This is why I think Shirley portrayed her character out very well. Her character changes throughout the series and this is why her character is really good because it actually develops, which gives this series a good ending. I reckon Shirley may have overacted a bit when she goes crazy, but mostly she did great in this series! I think her chemistry with Hawick and Alex is fantastic!
Favourite Scene:
~ The part where Ray expresses his love for Shirley by making 100 cakes for her! How sweet!
Conclusion: This series was remarkable! It was funny from start to finish. I think that the depth of Alex and Shirley's characters were really magnificiently done. I reckon that this series is for all members of the family. It is cute and funny!
