Storyline:
This series is about a school that has many teachers who are trying to make the school a better place for its students. The teachers help the students out and together they solve many problems like a family. They learn many lessons about how to understand one another and how to communicate to help each other out when there are problems to face. In this series it also includes relationship issues for those who are in a love triangle of three very good friends.
Comments:
Storyline - I think that the storyline of 'Shine On You' is pretty good. It starts with a great sense of humour and the issues that the students and teachers need to face are very common ones. The issues are solved in an understandable way and there is a happy ending for everyone. The story flows very well and the sense of humour makes it so hard to stop watching this series. But towards the end it seems to drag on because it won't get straight to the point. This is the down part of the series, but other than that it's terrific!
Acting:
Michael Tao - I haven't seen Michael in many series lately, but I still think he did a great job in 'Shine On You'. He gave the series a nice sense of humour. He was wonderful at acting as a teacher and his great communication with the students was very well done. I think when Michael had fallen in love with Kenix he was surprised because it was pretty sudden. When he liked Shirley, it was at first sight. Michael slowly found out he had feelings for Kenix, so I think it was because of this that the two had such fantastic chemistry.
Kenix Kwok - Kenix's character in this series was very much like her character in the series 'Seed Of Hope' and 'Vigilante Force'. Her character was really caring and would put others before herself. I think she still did an amazing job in this series because when she was confused about how to decide between Michael and Bobby, she did a spectacular job at showing her feelings. Her character was never wooden or flat. But I would like to see Kenix take a different type of character because in her series she is always the same. Her character's personalities are always very similar too, so I want to see her act as a character with a different personality.
Bobby Au Yeung - In this series Bobby was a fabulous school principal. In most of his scenes he had funny lines and just seeing him smile and make people laugh made me want to laugh too. I think Bobby had the most change out of all the characters. He started off as a principal with not much of an understanding of his school's students. The students didn't like him at all. But then he slowly became a likeable principal who showed the students and teachers how much he cared about the school's education. I think he gave a brilliant display of how his personality began to change. I felt very sorry for Bobby when Kenix didn't have any feelings for him because he was a very kind and decent person. He really cared about Kenix and liked her very much.
Shirley Yeung - Shirley was only in the start of this series. She and Michael were dating. I think that the two of them had remarkable chemistry, but it was a shame that Shirley left the series quickly. I thought that she would come back at the end, but sadly she didn't. But I still think that Shirley did a magnificent job in this series. This is because she was very good at acting like the pretty, young teacher who the students made fun of. I think Shirley understood the students the most out of all the teachers because she cared about how the students learn and wanted to supply the best for them. It was great to see Shirley act in a different role from her previous series.
Overall: I think that overall the series storyline and cast were incredible! But it was definitely sad that Shirley had to leave so quickly. I think that people should watch this series if they enjoyed 'Seed Of Hope' and 'A Handful Of Love'. I reckon that you should also watch it if you like the cast because they all did very well.
