Starring Cast
Felix Wong as Kong Fung

Miu Kiu Wai as Lee Sai Mun

Yung Mei Ling as Chun Sik Sik

Tong Chun Yip as Lee Wai Gut

Short Summary:
Without spoiling too much of the series. This series is a political story on who would gain control of the Tang throne. Felix Wong plays Kong Fung, a man who is obsessed with learning kungfu and becoming the best in martial arts is his only goal in life. Miu Kiu Wai plays the 2nd prince (Lee Sai Mun) of the Tang dynasty who wants to become the emperor of the Tang dynasty. Tong Chun Yip plays the 3rd prince (Lee Wai Gut) of the Tang who also wants to become the emperor of the Tang dynasty. Finally, Yung Mei Ling plays Kong Fung's girlfriend in the beginning, however Kong Fung dumps her so she becomes Lee Sai Mun's girlfriend later.
Acting:
You can't really complain about anyone's acting here. It featured an all-star cast and they performed that way. Yung Mei Ling played kind of a sad role as Chun Sik Sik. It's quite different from the Wong Yung role in Legend of the Condor Heroes '82. Felix Wong played Kong Fung well. He brought out the emotions of Kong Fung and made the audience feel what Kong Fung was going through. Miu Kiu Wai was noble and cunning as the 2nd prince, and Tong Chun Yip did a good job in his usual prince role.
Fighting Choreography:
There were some really good fight scenes in this serial. However, with the limited technology during that TVB had in 1983 the moves looked kind of slow. The little special effects they did employ looked pretty cheesy and messed up compared to today's standards. Also, the places which they fought looked faked at times which is typical TVB. I also want to point out that this series does not focus on martial arts as some of the other series that you may have seen with Felix Wong in it. There are a lot of fights, however, it's not so much the story about who will gain the top spot in the martial arts world. The series really revolves around politics.
Story:
I thought the story was only okay. Nothing really special. It had a few surprises here and there but it's really not that addicting. **Warning** the story is also kind of sad so if you don't like sad stories then don't see it.
Final Thoughts:
I recommend everyone to see this series if you like politics and wouldn't mind a sad story. I would also recommend this series to those who love the golden 80s. I'm sure you will enjoy this one. I do not recommend this series to those who could care less about politics and those who want to some high-flying action, full of humor series. The series really had a tragic tone to it. It's really unique from the rest.
