The Stew of Life is a family comedy series. The storyline of the TV series revolves around one family. Cookery teacher Lo Siu Lai and her husband Ng Man Tak are unhappy to discover that their daughter Ng Choi Ni has started living with a gay co-worker, while her divorced sister Lo Siu Mei is in the midst of a love triangle of sorts involving her tenant Yau Kai and her ex-husband. Tak is forced into early retirement, and is stuck at home bored with nothing to do. Lai gets the opportunity to host her own cooking show on TV, which she is thrilled about. The storyline follows these basic ideas and stories. The cast of The Stew of Life is made up of the following: Chung King Fai plays Ng Man Tak, Louise Lee plays Lo Siu Lai, Fala Chen plays Ng Choi Nei, and Christine Ng plays Lo Siu Mei. Other cast members include Evergreen Mak, Yvonne Ho, Timmy Hung, Johnson Lee, and Candy Cheung.
