Story Overview:
WARNING! Spoilers!
Amy Kwok is Bosco's child bride, and they have been married for 14 years. Amy raised him up and only treats him as a younger brother. Bosco, a rich spoiled kid, is very immature and likes to play practical jokes. Before his father died, he left the 'Soya Sauce Factory' under Bosco's name hoping one day he'll be mature enough to run the factory. To fulfil his father's dying wish, Amy hires a teacher (Evergreen Mak) to teach Bosco simple English phrases. During Evergreen's stay he develops feelings for Amy, but he is only here to evenge his father's death (he believes Bosco's father had killed his). Evergreen later takes control of the house and factory, leaving Amy, Bosco, his grandmother, Sherming Yiu (Bosco's eldest sister) and Annie Man (Bosco's second sister) homeless.
The family finds a shelter and opens a small restaurant. Evergreen later re-unites with his long lost sister (Chan Hoi-Yee, whom Bosco is dating) and his friend (Wayne Lai). His factory is doing well before some competition sparks into town. The owner of another Soya Sauce factory (Power Chan) creates a new refreshing image for soya sauce containers and steals the costumers. Power Chan used to work at Bosco's factory, but got kicked out. He shares a love connection with Sherming, but only loves Amy. Because Evergreen's factory is doing so poorly, he decides to close it for one week. Bosco offers to help create a tasty refreshing soya sauce (he doesn't want to let his dead father down). Evergreen agrees, and Bosco's family moves in with Evergreen's. The family work as a team and accomplish their goal. They create a new soya sauce which puts Power Chan's factory out of business.
Evergreen still has a crush on Amy and soon descovers she feels the same way. Everything is fine until Bosco descovers the true reason for Evergreen's dad's death. Evergreen realizes that he was wrong and feels bad. At this time he is going to be famous and if he reveals the secret he will lose everything. Bosco and Amy devise a plan to test Evergreen. Evergreen fails the test, so Amy decides to run away (Evergreen chose money and fame over her). Evergreen later realizes his mistakes and confesses. He goes out looking for Amy. Meanwhile, Power has gotten Sherming pregnant. Their love story ends when Power expressed his true feelings to Sherming. Wayne Lai sacrifices himself to save Annie. She later feels bad and admits she was the one who poisoned the soya sauce.
Seven years later... Bosco and Chan Hoi-Yee have a kid. Power and Sherming, and Annie and Wayne also have kids. Everyone has a happy ending exept for Evergreen. He's still deeply in love with Amy and has been searching for her everywhere for the past 7 years. His hopes are shattered until one night Bosco brings Evergreen to a restaurant. He is sitting there alone until a girl approaches him. The girl is Amy.......
The Chemistry
Amy Kwok/ Evergreen Mak; 3/5 - They looked all right together, but lacked chemistry. Although their love story was a bit farfetched, they still managed to convince the audience.
Bosco Wong/ Chan Hoi-Yee; 4/5 - They looked cute together. Great chemistry! It's funny how Chan Hoi-Yee chose Bosco over her mother! This seems like a good couple!
Annie Man/ Wayne Lai; 4/5 - An odd match that turned out fine! Even though they had different personalities they managed to match very well. A very funny and mean couple!
Sherming Yiu/ Power Chan; 5/5 - A perfect match with excellent chemistry. The series wouldn't be complete without them! Their love story was very touching! They both had outstanding performances and truely were a perfect fit!
The Performances
Best
Annie Man
Wow! First time with a villain role! She played her 'bitchy' chracter very well. Definitely a very convincing actress. One of her best performances yet for sure!
Sherming Yiu
Sherming's acting has improved. She really made you feel for her character. TVB should definitely promote her.
Bosco Wong
Bosco portrayed his annoying, immature character very well. As a new generation actor, he acted like a veteran!
Worst
Everyone did either average or outstanding!
Worth Watching?
YES! Definately! A great series, one of the best this year. This series made me smile, laugh and cry! It's great to see Amy Kwok back, what a great return! And an unforgettable villain performance from Annie Man seals it! Overall this series is entertaining and definitely a must-see.
