Character analysis:

Princess Shek Lan (Liza Wang)
Princess Shek Lan is the older cousin of the Empress during the Ching Dynasty, therefore she throws her weight around and bosses everybody around. Practically everyone is afraid of her except for the Emperor, the Empress, and Tin Lik. She has a terrible temper and she also dislikes Tin Lik for disobeying her and make things difficult for her.

Ning Fong De (Shek Lan)
Ning Fong De is an easy-going person and he practically listens to everything his wife (Shek Lan) says. You may call him an obedient husband or a cowardly man. He has great embroidery skills and is appreciated by the Emperor. He also has a big embroidery shop given by the Emperor. He is rather indecisive in his relationships.

Ning Mao Chun AKA Bu Liu Ming (Bosco Wong)
Ning Mao Chun is the obedient child of Shek Lan and Fong De. Whatever he does is controlled by his mother and that includes what he is suppose to wear and even the choice of his wife. His wife (Tin Lik) thinks he is a cowardly and timid mama's boy. On the other hand, Bu Liu Ming is a hero that helps the poor and punishes the evil. He would have been the perfect man if he didn't have an unreasonable mother.

Tin Lik (Myolie Wu)
Tin Lik comes from a family of thieves. She was mistakenly married to Mao Chun when she is running away from soldiers after playing a trick on Shek Lan and breaking her stuff. She is short-tempered and stubborn like Seuk Lan, but she has a kind heart.

Long Qiao Qiao (Christine Ng)
Long Qiao Qiao is the auntie of Tin Lik, she is a very kind and caring lady waiting for her "Yun Da Ge" to come back to her. She forgives people easily and does not remember hatred. She is the perfect friend everyone wants to have. Her long waiting for "Yun Da Ge" has caused her to be a a bit mental.

Cast analysis:

Liza Wang as Princess Seuk Lan
She really acted like a spoilt princess in the series. I find her very talented in this series as this is my first series with her in it. She was very funny in the series and is good at it.

Shek Sau as Ning Fong De
This is the first time I saw Shek Sau as a good guy. In every show I have seen with him in it, he is always the bad guy. He acted very well as a obedient husband.

Bosco Wong as Ning Mao Chun AKA Bu Liu Ming
He sure is a very cowardly and timid mama's boy in this series and very good at it too. I like how he expresses his love for Tin Lik and how he smeared Bu Liu Ming's name by pretending to be a pervert.

Myolie Wu as Tin Lik
I like her acting in "War In Laws" she is not afraid to do anything. It was really funny to watch when she was jealous of Ling Shan and Mao Chun being together.

Christine Ng as Long Qiao Qiao
She acted quite ok in the series but I don't really like her, especially during crying scenes. She also acted very irritating in this series. I skipped every part she in (I am not blaming her, blame it on the script writers).

- Whenever Tin Lik and Seuk Lan fought.
- When Tin Lik and Mao Chun are together.
