I think charmaine improved alot in her acting.I know that many people dont like her but you have to give her credit for some great series she was in. To say she can't act is rather bais just because you dont like her. If she can't act, people would have not even pay attention. You think TVB would even invest in someone that no one thinks can act.
Some of the worser actreses like Anne Heung, you could say that she can't act.I didn't hate her but i felt that she doesn't really improve much. Probably a good thing now that she does not act anymore.
The series may be lacking but you cant blame it all on the actor.

Yes she did well but her characters are always being stereotyped to be the same goody-two-shoes. in my opinion she should play more characters as season from mig (dont remember the name of the drama), chow chi yeurk, and the granddaughter from "maiden's vow"
