Fan and sword are his weapons. He usually rubs his nose when he thinks and it eventually becomes his habit. He likes pretty women and often flirts with them for fun. Out of all the girls who like him, he only has feelings for Seung Goon Mo Gik.

Seung Goon Mo Gik - a pretty, young lady with high martial arts skill who was raised in an ancient tomb. Therefore, she's not familiar with the outside world. Her parents are the leaders of "Yat Yuet San Gau". She initially dislikes Chor Lau Heung but falls for him afterwards.

Prince Chiu Ming - an evil, ambitious prince. He wants to obtain the throne despite killing all the people around him. He is desperate in learning a highly skilled kung fu "Kwai Fa Bo Din" and eagerly wanting "se lap ji" from Yat Yuet San Gau. He dislikes Chor Lau Heung and his friends because they always interfere in his business.

Lin Ngai Seung - she falls in love with Chor and wants him to be hers so she brainwashes him, but his heart belongs to Mo Gik.

SERIES SYNOPSIS (Spoilers!)

"Heung Sui Chuen Kei" (Chor Lau Heung '95) is a new adventure of a handsome, suave, charming swordsman Chor portrayed by Adam. I think this is the 5th or 6th time (including the movies he had played) they cast Adam as Chor Lau Heung. He is no doubt the best choice for this debonair character. Anyway, the story begins with "Heung Sui" Chor Lau Heung being accused of molesting Sum Sau Kwan, a daughter of this well-known family. Actually, her intention is to lure him into a plan that she has set up. Chor decides to find her to figure out what's going on and who accused him of doing such things, etc. She explains that there is a "se lap ji" (it's a marble-like medicine that can help people who learn kung fu to gain inner energy). Her family planned to present it to the emperor but somebody stole it a month ago. Knowing that Chor was not in town last month, she still blamed it on him so he would appear. Chor understands and agrees to help her find it.

With the help of Chor's best friends -- Wu Tit Fa, Gei Bing Ngaan and Chor's "girlfriends" who live on the same boat with him - So Yung Yung, Lei Hung Jau, Sung Tim Yi, they are about to explore an exciting adventure. First, they discover an ancient tomb clan called "Yat Yuet San Gau" (Sun and Moon clan) and target there. However, they cannot find the entrance. Chor is fated to meet Seung Goon Mo Gik (a daughter of Sun and Moon clan's leader) in the market. He is attracted to her beauty but she doesn't have a good impression on him (HAHHAHAHA). After he finds out that she is related to Sun and Moon clan, he decides to stalk on her. Chor finally figures out how to get inside and he succeeds "stealing" se lap ji from Sun and Moon clan. Their leader is extremely angry about it because he has planned to drink it after it's cooked. Unfortunately, he blames Seung Goon Mo Gik for wandering outside the ancient tomb and causing big trouble. She vows to track down Chor Lau Heung and obtain se lap ji back. Chor returns sa lap ji to Sum Sau Kwan. Her dad appreciates his kindness and willing to let his daughter marry him.

Chor refuses because he doesn't want to get married yet. She's about to commit suicide but he stops her by using "dan ji san gung" knocking the knife down. Back to Mo Gik, she was raised in ancient tomb so she is not familiar with the outside world. Not for long, Chor is again being accused of killing 36 people in Sum's family. He is surprised because he just returned se lap ji to Sum Sau Kwan and her dad. Anyway, both sides are chasing him: the official (goon fu) and Sun and Moon clan. An official captures Chor's girl friends and held them as hostages. Chor has no choice but to surrender. On the way to jail, Seung Goon Mo Gik and her people suddenly appear wanting to capture Chor as well. She accidentally interferes in the official's job and let Chor escape from the crowd. Obviously, Chor Lau Heung isn't easy to capture since he has the help of So Yung Yung who can disguise him into a different person.

Mo Gik's interference pissed the official off; therefore, he arrests some of Mo Gik's people forcing Chor to appear or else he will kill them. The day Mo Gik saves her people; the official has already set up everything for her to fall in the trap. Of course Chor knows of this news and quickly flies there to save the innocent. The official orders Chor to cut his veins on the feet so he won't be able to run. Chor agrees, and when about to cut, a famous monk, Chor's friends and 3 leaders of "mo lam" world come to the rescue. They ask the official to give Chor a month to find out who killed 36 people of Sum's family and who stole se lap ji. The official compromises and releases them, including Chor. Mo Gik is grateful to Chor and thanks him for saving her. Seeing one of her people is injured, Chor asks them to stay on his ship for a while to regain energy. Mo Gik despises Yung Yung, Hung Jau, Tim Yi and think they are disgraceful woman who live with the same man. Yung Yung tells her that they are not Chor's "women". They were orphans who followed him when they were little. He never touched them, but respects them like his "sisters". She advises Mo Gik to follow Chor, she will find out how much of a gentleman he is.

The next day, Wu Tit Fa sends Chor a letter seeking for help. While Chor is on his way to the brothel, he notices that Mo Gik is following him.
He stops and asks, "Seung Goon goo neung, where are you going?"
Mo Gik, "Uh..I'm not really going anywhere. Chor dai gor, how about you? Can I join you?"
Chor, "Hmmm, I think it is inconvenient."
Mo Gik, "How come?????"
Chor, "Because the place that I'm going to is not suitable for you."
Mo Gik, "Are you saying that my kung fu is not good enough?"
Chor jokingly says, "Your kung fu isn't good enough, but with me beside you, you'll definitely be safe....but today...."
Mo Gik rolls her eyes, "Today what?"
Chor points at the brothel's title board "Kei Heung Lau" and replies, "This is where I want to go."
Mo Gik, "Kei Heung Lau, hmmm this name sounds elegant. Why can't I come in?"
Chor, "Because this place only welcomes men."
Mo Gik, "Well, I have money"
Chor, "Why are you not getting my point? This place is for men who seek for women to play with."
Mo Gik, "But women can look for women to play with as well."
Chor can't hold it anymore then blurts out, "This is a place for men to sleep with women!!!!!"
Mo Gik angrily curses, "Chor Lau Heung, you're a disgraceful, perverted bas......"
Chor, "Hey I didn't take you here, you insisted to follow...."
Mo Gik, "You x x x x x x x x x x x..........."

Chor twists his ears and enters the brothel to look for Wu Tit Fa. As he opens the door, Wu Tit Fa drags him in and asks Chor to help him hide away from Go A Nam, a woman who follows him everywhere because he accidentally praised her beauty when he was drunk. Chor promises him but after he comes back, Go A Nam is already on the ship waiting for him. Chor tells her that Wu Tit Fa is at the brothel hahhahaha, she angrily runs to the brothel.

On the ship, while talking to his friends, Lei Hung Jau notices that Chor's saber isn't with him (the saber that goes together with his disguise). Chor then remembers that one time he saved an old man (in disguise) from convulsion. That man is Si Hung Jaak Sing, the second king of thieves, one of Chor's buddies. It shocks everyone because there was a rumor that Si Hung Jaak Sing is dead. Chor disagrees and says the only person who is able to steal stuff from him is Si Hung Jaak Sing so he must be alive AND he must have stolen se lap ji. Chor and his friends again, on their journey searching for Si Hung Jaak Sing starting from the liquor stores because Si Hung Jaak Sing loves liquor like Wu Tit Fa. When they stop at this store, the owner discloses that there's one young guy at age 18 who constantly buys wine from them, and orders 10 each time. Chor thinks maybe Si Hung Jaak Sing disguises into that young guy so he and his friends follow him.

Unfortunately, it's just a young guy who Si Hung Jaak Sing use to buy wine for him. This guy's name is A Bo. He admires Chor very much and wants to be his disciple. Chor asks him who is he buying wine for and if he could take him there. He says an old man named Lao Fok, then leads Chor and his friend to where Lao Fok is. Chor immediately knows that's Si Hung Jaak Sing. When Si Hung Jaak Sing sees Chor, he somersaults away but Chor stops him from doing so. Chor forces him to return se lai jie in order to escape from being arrested. He claims that he didn't steal it, an assassin who used tiny needles killing 36 people of the Sum's family stole it. Si Hung Jaak Sing hasn't finished talking then he tells Chor that he needs to use the restroom. While Chor is waiting, somebody uses poisonous needles, killing Si Hung Jaak Sing. Chor is extremely hurt by this, he promises to revenge for Si Hung Jaak Sing.

Chor searches for a famous weapon creator name Dong Ngaan and asked him about the source of poisonous needles. After observing, Dong Ngaan reveals that those needles are from Dalisibi, a small country on the desert. Indeed, Chor and his friends head to Dalibisi to discover about this unknown assassin. The group has: Chor Lau Heung, Seung Goon Mo Gik, Wu Tit Fa, Gei Bing Ngaan, Go A Nam, A Bo and Dong Ngaan. On the desert, Chor and his friends save a girl from local bandits. Her name is Chow Sam, an assassin sent by Chiu Ming taai ji (the prince) to stalk on Chor and to obtain se lap ji. She falls in love with Chor Lau Heung and A Bo falls for her. As they continue the journey, one day, somebody spills all of their water on the desert. Everyone is thirsty to death and fall unconscious. When Chor awakes, a beautiful woman enters the room. She introduces that her name is Sing Nin, princess of Dalibisi who saves him and his friends.

At Dalibisi, Chor and his friends are treated well since they are good friends of princess Sing Nin. Notice that Sing Nin is in love with Chor and sticks to him everywhere he goes which making Mo Gik jealous because she falls in love with him too. With the help of princess Sing Nin, Chor finds out that the assassin who uses poisonous needles is Ha Lei Fat. He captures Ha Lei Fat and locates se lap ji. Chor returns it to Mo Gik and tells her to take it home first. He has to stay in Dalibisi to revenge for Si Hung Jaak Sing because Ha Lei Fat isn't the mastermind behind all these set-ups. Mo Gik says she'd like to help them and is not in a hurry to go back. Chor intends to leave the palace because Sing Nin's finance isn't happy with his appearance. Sing Nin insists that the king keep Chor but accidentally gets injured by the assassins who are sent to kill the king. Chor tries his best passing all the traps in a 6-story tower to get the antidote. In the last tower, he has to pick out one of the cups and drink it. As he knows, two of them are poisoned and one isn't. Chor chooses the middle one and returns to the palace with antidote. Actually, all of the cups were poisoned, but it doesn't take effect until after awhile.

Anyway, Chor eventually finds out that he is poisoned and there are no antidotes to cure him. Dung Ngaan suddenly think of se lap ji because it's a kind of medicine which can cure any disease, poison and even gain one self's inner energy. However, se lap ji belongs to Mo Gik's dad and the Sun and Moon clan, she cannot give it without their permission. She hesitates a bit then decides to give up se lap ji in order to save her beloved Chor dai gor. After waking up from being unconscious, Chor purposely acts like he is losing kung fu and memory to investigate the palace due to the king's death and many other weird things happening around him. In the end, he and princess Sing Nin's finance (Sat Mu Hap) capture the queen who intended to take over the throne. Princess Sing Nin then becomes the Queen of Dalibisi with Chor's help. Nothing lasts long, he has to say good-bye and return to China. She asks Chor to promise that he will come back someday.

Back to China, Chor explains to the official about the assassin who killed 36 people of Sum's family was dead in jail. Now that case has ended. Mo Gik has to return to Sun and Moon clan to do explanations as well, but she doesn't want Chor to go with her. Her dad is totally pissed after she tells him that she gave se lap ji to Chor Lau Heung. He orders people to put her in jail and tell Chor Lau Heung to come donate blood because after he drank sa lap ji, it still exists in his blood. Chor immediately arrives when he receives the message. She begs her dad to release him because he belongs to Sun and Moon clan. Her dad is shocked and tells her to be careful with her words. Then she asks him to follow her. In her room, she shows her dad that the "virgin" sign on her shoulder is gone because in Dalibisi, she warmed Chor Lau Heung up because he almost died when the poison inside him started to maltreat him. Her dad slaps her and evicts her out of Sun and Moon clan. Chor, Mo Gik, Wu Tit Fat, A Bo and Chow Sam escape from the forests through many traps since not many people can enter Sun and Moon clan that easily.

Mo Gik is now living on the ship along with Chor and the other girls but she still thinks of her dad. His inner energy has been injured for years so once in a year he needs to meditate and without her, no one will be able to protect him. She decides to come back for a few days, but when she arrives everyone is killed!!!! Luckily, her dad isn't. But later he is accused of killing all other clans in mo lam world by using "Kwai Fa Bo Din" (the best kung fu in mo lam). Her dad then think of Mo Gik's mother, Wei Leng Ba, who also knows about Wong Wah Bo Din and tells Mo Gik to go find her. Actually, the real person who killed all the leaders and clans is prince Chiu Ming. He wants to defeat all the best fighters to take control over mo lam. Mo Gik finds her mom but is scared to look at her disfigured self from learning Kwai Fa Bo Din. Her family is united but in awhile, Chiu Ming appears and kills her parents. Chor Lau Heung comes too late and his Dan Ji San Gung can't overpower Kwai Fa Bo Din. Chiu Ming defeats Chor and somersaults away when many friends of Chor arrive. Maybe Chor is lucky or something, he meets a monk and this monk gives him a bottle of medicine to regain gung lik. This monk even passes him and Mo Gik a book called "Poh Din San Gung" (it's to defeat Chiu Ming's Kwai Fa Bo Din). The monk confess to Mo Gik that he stole Kwai Fa Bo Din from her parents and rewrote it to Chiu Ming, causing her parents to die. This is the only way to compensate her. He slowly stops breathing after he finishes apologizing.

So Chor Lau Heung and Mo Gik start practicing Poh Din San Gung hoping to defeat Chiu Ming. Gee, bad luck always come, Chiu Ming stalks on them and attacks Chor while he and Mo Gik are practicing in a cave. Chor is seriously wounded and loses all his kung fu this time. Wu Tit Fa and Gei Bing Ngaan help them out and they have to hide in Dalibisi, that's the only place they can go. Chiu Ming then seizes Dalibisi, captures princess Sing Ning and hunts down Chor Lau Heung. Apparently, Chor, Mo Gik and Wu Tit Fa are far away from Dalibisi and back to China now. They are searching for a woman name Lin Ngai Seung to cure Chor. She is like a pharmacist in the olden time since she makes a lot of pills and cures many people. Wu Tit Fa finds her in a restaurant and approaches her. Then he asks her to follow him to save Chor. She requests them to pay 300 K and take Chor to her place.

After a few days, Chor regains his kung fu but his memory is being brainwashed by Lin Ngai Seung. She seduces him by convincing him that she is Mo Gik. Without knowing the truth, Chor spends a night in her room. Mo Gik is outside watching them but cannot do anything because Wu Tit Fat stops her. He is afraid that she will kill Chor. Mo Gik is terribly hurt and leaves Chor. Knowing that Chor only loves Mo Gik, Lin Ngai Seung is disappointed that her plan doesn't work out. She decides to give back his memory by transmitting her inner energy to him (gung lik). Her hair turns white while transmitting all her gung lik to Chor (Bak Fat Ma Lui hahaha). Chor awakes and doesn't see Mo Gik beside Wu Tit Fa and Lin Ngai Seung, he becomes frustrated asking her whereabouts.

Lin Ngai Seung tells him to rest, as she will search for Mo Gik for him. She goes to Wah San and informs Mo Gik that Chor's memory has regained; he loves her, so go back to find him. Chor and Mo Gik are united; they head to the palace to save princess Sing Nin and other Chor's friends. When facing the enemy, Chor doesn't have confidence that he can beat Chiu Ming as he doesn't know that he has succeeded in learning "Poh Din San Gung". In a flash, Chor defeats Chiu Ming with his amazing kung fu. Mo Gik is about to revenge for her parents but Sing Nin pleads to her to forgive him because she is pregnant. Mo Gik chops off his left arm and runs away crying.

Unfortunately, Chiu Ming doesn't feel grateful to Chor for sparing his life. He hires a Japanese swordsman to challenge Chor for a match. With his unmatched art of levitation and high kung fu techniques, Chor defeats Tin Fung Sap Si Lang, the Japanese swordsman. He commits suicide after losing to Chor. As for Chiu Ming, the king orders the guards to arrest him for hiring Japanese swordsmen to assassinate him. The ending is happy for Chor and Mo Gik as they live happily ever after.

My comments:
Where should I start? Chor Lau Heung has always been my #1 favorite series. It leaves a deep impression on me because I became Adam's fan after watching "Heung Sui Chuen Kei". What of Chor that I find attractive? Well he is tall, handsome, hilarious, caring, romantic, cute, etc. Who could resist this PERFECT man? He does resemble Adam, don't ya agree with me, Adam's fans? hehe.

Is this version faithful to the novel? NO. It is a made up story since Chor doesn't end up with anybody in the novels. Hey, I personally like this storyline because I don't wish him to have an ending like Chor Lau Heung '79 and '85.

The theme song "Tin Dai Di Dai" (Big Sky Big Land) can't be compared to Adam's original "Chor Lau Heung" song but it's refreshing....it gives you light feelings so I'd recommend this CD. If you're an Adam's fan, you'll love the pictures inside. By the way, this is Adam's first Mandarin album.

Best on-screen chemistry should be Adam and Cynthia Yeung. Chor and Mo Gik are like "Gim Dong Yuk Lui". They match each other well and both look so FINE hahahaha. Moreover, they have many funny scenes together like when Mo Gik follows Chor to the brothel, when he ignores her, when she is angry with him. I can't help it but to laugh when they are together. Uh, Mo Gik is such a high tempered lady; she keeps leaving Chor and expects him to apologize. The other girls are pretty cute too. Chor, Mo Gik, Wu Tit Fa, Gei Bing Ngaan and Go A Nam are all hysterical characters. I think everyone did a marvelous job.

Another reason I like about "Heung Sui Chuen Kei" is that they have many etymons (old sayings), which sound very good. I learn a lot of them from "Heung Sui Chuen Kei" as they all make sense to me hahaha. Oh yeah, I cannot miss out the costumes. They are awesome. Chor has like 8 (or 9) lace-made costumes and they look extremely gorgeous on him. It goes to Seung Goon Mo Gik and Chor's girls as well. Wu Tit Fa, Gei Bing Ngaan and the other men only have 1 or 2.

Is this series worth renting? Heck YEAH! Good storyline, nice casts (especially Adam), lovely song and BEAUTIFUL costumes or else it wouldn't rate #1 in Taiwan right? The tapes and VCDs are all available for rent/sale. I would rate this series 5/5 stars because I never get tired of it. Guess how many times I've seen it? 100+ times.
