Opinions

In the beginning I was annoyed by Dicky's voice. He kept repeating the same things over and over again. The plot in the beginning was also boring, especially the part where Hoi Tai Fu was insane. I didn't think it was really funny at all. But later, in the middle, it started to get really interesting. Some parts of this story were really funny and it sure made me crack up.

All along, the plot was really good, but I really like the Duke of Mount Deer 98 version better (with Jordan Chan and Steven Ma and Rain Lau). However, this version was pretty good too. But it was quite different from the 98 version. Dicky sometimes spoke too modern and I didn't liked that. I mean, it's an ancient series. It was kind of nasty though at first because it seemed as if Dicky fell for every girl he saw. I mean, I remember in the 98 version, wasn't it the girls who fell for Jordan instead? I can't remember.

But I must say, Siu Bo's wives here are much prettier than the ones in Jordan Chan's version. But none of the wives in that version died. The ending of this story was okay but I really wanted to know what happened to the wives. I guess they had more children?

The parts that I really liked in this story was when Dicky was a monk. He was so funny as a monk, especially when he was rolling around and singing his weird songs. But it was really funny. I also liked the part when Dicky was trying to get Monica to stay. It was so sweet.

At first I thought this story wasn't serious at all. I thought it was just trying to entertain people and to try and get a good laugh out of everybody. I felt kind of angry at first when I thought this series was a rip off. However, it wasn't that bad, but I seriously prefer the 98 version better. In fact, I'd like to see it again (the 98 version).

The comparisons

Okay well, I'll compare the 98 and 2000. I don't think Dicky was that good playing the smart, tricky guy. Dicky seemed more like those people who just wanted to chase girls and was never serious. While in the 98 version, Jordan seemed like he knew what he was doing. Well you may think the opposite but this is my opinion.

If you decide to watch this series, just remember the beginning isn't that good. I was about to quit on it but I decided to continue anyway and I found the middle and end much, much better.
