Princess Huai Yu

Story: Huai Yu (Jia Yu Cheng) is the Ming emperor's daughter. At the time, the Manchus were invading China. Huai Yu was taken in by Manchu official Fu Ching. The Ming Empress's maid, Auntie Lan (Wei Zhen Mah), watched as Fu Ching took Huai Yu in a tent. Eighteen years later, Huai Yu is grown and she likes to act like a tomboy. One day, while wearing men's clothes, she goes out to play. Along the way she gets into a fight and accidentally hits Kang Hsi (Eric Suen). She didn't know that she had hit the Emperor. Kang Hsi didn't get mad, and instead, he thought Huai Yu was a good fighter. (He doesn't know she's a female yet.)

Then they meet Wu Sangui's son Wu Ying Hong. They become very good friends. But this friendship would lead to love and hatred. The story goes on where Huai Yu's brother Fu Rong is about to get married with his sweetheart Cheng Ying. But Huai Yu accidentally hits Cheng Ying's younger brother Cheng An with an arrow. Cheng Ying's father gets angry and cancels the wedding. Even though Fu Rong is sad and angry he doesn't get mad at Huai Yu. After some hard work, Fu Rong and Cheng Ying finally get together. As for Huai Yu, Kang Hsi finally knows that she's a female and that she's his cousin. Kang Hsi begins to like her. But Cheng Wen, one of his wives, gets jealous and tells her aunt, the Empress, to make her the Queen. The Empress tells Kang Hsi to pick a Queen soon. Kang Hsi says he's quite busy, but in his heart he already has a Queen: Huai Yu.

Kang Hsi always helps Huai Yu and she could feel that he likes her. She makes him a embroided picture of a dragon and he treats it as if it was a real treasure. On the other hand, Auntie Lan sees that Huai Yu is deeply in love with Kang Hsi but she can't tell Huai Yu her real identity yet. Wu Ying Hong is in love with Huai Yu too but he is about to get married with Kang Hsi's younger sister Jian Ling. When Huai Yu finds out that she is pregnant she wants to marry Kang Hsi but Auntie Lan says no. Auntie Lan tells Huai Yu her real identity and how her parents (the Ming emperor/empress) got killed. After hearing this, Huai Yu decides to kill Kang Hsi but she thought about how he liked her. But at the end, it's sad that Huai Yu and Kang Hsi can't be together.

Overall, it's similar to Huan Zhu Ge Ge but it's more funnier because of Eric Suen as Kang Hsi and Jia Yu Cheng as Huai Yu. They make a funny couple and plus Huai Yu's maid Ching Ching is wacky.

I would recommend all Mandarin speakers to see this series because it's in mandarin. Also, I didn't see the whole entire series because it was on the web. And it wasn't clear at all, but I did read the summary.
