Princess Huai Yu

When I first watched this series, I was a bit shocked at Eric. He was cute like always but his hair was gone. I thought, "Yikes, can't they just put something over his real hair?" Anyway, I kept on watching the series and it turned out well. But there are some comments I want to make.

Eric - Well, he wasn't bad. After all, this is his first series and it was good. I just wished that he didn't have to shave his hair, but I'm not the director so, I can't do anything.

Carol - She was great, well not that great but just "great". It's my first time watching her in a series and I must say that she can act very well. Her voice was deep and sounded like she was sick.

What is the series about?
Since Tammy and someone else already told you, I won't go into the story that much. Basically, it's similar to "Romeo and Juliet" in which a pair of "star crossed" lovers fall in love. But there are so many obstacles in their way, more than from "Romeo and Juliet". First of all, they have the King's mother, the King's little wife, Huai Yu's real identity, Princess Jian Ling, the guy that Jian Ling likes, Lan Yi (Auntie Lan) and Huai Yu's parents. They are all in the King and Huai Yu's path. Too much.

Why is so popular in Taiwan?
Easy question. First of all, this is a Taiwanese production. Second, leading actress Carol Zheng is from Taiwan. Third, it follows the "Huan Zhu Ge Ge" path.

What do you mean it follows "Huan Zhu Ge Ge" path?
Huai Yu is similar to "Xiao Yin Zhi", tomboyish, playful blah blah blah. It creates a similarity path between those two. If I were to create a diagram, in the "similar" box, I would put tomboyish, playful and all those other words.

So, the question is, do you like or dislike the series?
Me? I like it but not love it. It's not best series in the world, but it is a GOOD series. Just plain old GOOD.

Would you recommend this to anyone? Why?
Yeah! Go for it! Why? Hmm...tough. I don't know. Just go for it!

What about the theme songs?
Eric sang the main theme, I thought it was rather dull because they kept repeating the same lines over. But it was nice to hear him again. I also liked this other song, which Eric and this other girl sang. It was called, "Are you my lover or my enemy?". Totally perfect for this series.
