Starring: Kevin Lin, Xiao Qiang

This series starts out quite promising, however, it becomes dragging near the end just like any other Taiwanese series.

Kevin and Xiao Qiang become one of the favourite on-screen couple due to their sparkling chemistry. I have to admit that the chemistry between them is great. For example, Kevin could hold up Xiao Qiang's hand, then caress, and kiss it while reciting his lines. It just seems so natural for them to play a couple.

The plot is a simple love story with the usual objections from families. Kevin plays a son of mistress. However, he is the only son, which is why his two elder sisters need him for the family business. This evokes envy in the brother-in-law who has contributed much to the business and wants it to be his own. Xiao Qiang returns home after finishing her studies. Her father owns a hotel and is in fierce competition with Kevin's family business. Xiao Qiang's father wants her to marry her childhood friend, however, she only sees him as a brother. To me, Xiao Qiang's childhood friend is too old for her (I don't know this actor, he looks quite old) but this guy is super-nice and he could do anything for her, as long as she is happy.

Entwined with the main love story between Xiao Qiang and Kevin, there are subplots of murder and jealousy. To me, it does not seem fair for the brother-in-law, who has contributed much to the family business. Yet once Kevin returns, he is cast aside.

The love story between Xiao Qiang's father and Kevin's second sister is ridiculous. It seems funny to me how Xiao Qiang's father owns a big hotel and in his hotel, there are only four people working, including himself and Xiao Qiang's childhood friend. The plot is simple but quite interesting. However, it has many flaws like any other Taiwanese series which are all too long. Some of the details are too unrealistic. Yet once you start watching Taiwanese series, you have to accept these flaws.

Overall, the series is entertaining and I would recommend it for fans of everlasting love stories, and also fans of Xiao Qiang and Kevin Lin.
