101 Reasons you are addicted to fanfics (either in reading or writing).

1. You get to write your own version of what really should have happened in your favorite tv serials.

2. You can fulfil your curiosity of the life of heroes in Jin Yong's stories after they retire from the martial arts world.

3. You get to determine how many children Yang Guo and Xiao Long Nu have and what they do and where they live.

4. You can mix heroes from different wuxia novels and put them all in your fanfic.

5. You can cast any actors and actresses you want in your story without having to worry about financial issue.

6. You can give Richie Ren a common waiter role or Rain Lau a main heroine role without worrying either the story would make money or not. In short you can make your cast anything you want.

7. You can use the deceased stars in your story such as Barbara Yung.

8. Some fanfics are even better than the novels on the market nowadays.

9. Your best friends are the authors of fanfics.

10. You write fanfics yourself.

11. You receive good comments on your story that make you want to continue writing more and more.

12. You get to make cool posters.

13. You learn about computer graphics from making wallpaper and poster for your fanfic.

14. You enjoy the artistic images from different stories.

15. You make a lot of friends from fanfic forum.

17. You can live in fantasy without being cast into the madhouse.

18. You can write in an alias name so your family won't know that you are the author.

19. You can relieve your long underlined imaginations into the constructive channel.

21. You want to exercise your writing skills so that you will do better in your exams
22. Your sister is writing one that is insulting your favourite charcters so in revenge, you write on that puts her favourite characters on the bad side.
23. You are unhappy with the endign in soem serials so you want to chaneg them to your satisfaction.

25. You start writing about some actors or actress that you don't like and make them the baddest and evil person in there that in the end...will die of all the humilation and get rejected by the person he or she loves....(perhaps...you really wish it to happen to them in real life)

26. You can make it as dramatic and action pack with fighting in it.

27. You can create as many love triangles in your fanfic as you want.

28. You can control the actions, endings, and life and death of the character....without getting upset that the character should have died or should have done this or that.

29. You can use all the flowery words you want to describe stuff.

30. You believe you have better ideas of writing a story than the TVB or any production's scriptwriters..and start mailing your ideas to TVB or any production company to make your dream come true and have your own story become real series.

31. You can't wait for the next chapter of the fanfic to update and constantly bug the author to update and have them pair this person with which person.

32. You give them long descriptive suggestions for the next chapters in their email.

33. You start dreaming of what would happen in the next chapters and wake up harrasing the author to update or else threaten to not read their fanfic anymore but you find your self crawling back to read more chapters....

34. You start to write a fanfic of your own and then got an idea for another one and in result you have like eight fanfic out and find it hard to update all eight constantly.

35. You cast yourself in your fanfic, bcs this is the only way so you can be 'together' with your fave actor.

41. You can have the hero who knows every possible kung fu in Jin Yong cannon.

42. You can mutilate your character's face w/o having to think of real make up.

43. You can have odd animals as hero companions like ice monkey or rainbow horse.

44. You can always tell your parents that you're working on homework, since you have been typing.

45. You can choose which story you want to read.

46. You get to archive your fanfic when it's done.

The only reason I stand watching it because of Yu Lei and the other lady who plays her sister. And probably out of curiosity too. <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0">

Too much crying and basically lots of miscasts.

goofy: is teresa lee the girl in red dress? she acted well, imho.

i am not gu long's biggest fan, neither jy's or liang yushen's. i am just a fan of great plot, (which in my opinion, include legendary sibling). i could tolerate miscasted, i could tolerate some deviation, but I COULD NOT stand to see a good plot being 'mutilated' like this.

Can u imagine seeing a filthy, smelly, idiotic Chu Liu Xiang? Even if the actor is Miu Kiu Wai, and he said the words CLX said, but w/out CLX's characteristic, that character is NOT CLX!! And that's what YPP did!!!!

(this is just example, in case u wonder the relation between CLX and Legendary)

Agree w/ you there. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> I didn't know that YPP made that one, but I am not really surprised. Maybe b/c I am not that well acquainted w/ the Gu Long original plot and never seen any other adaptations, I could quite tolerated the mutilated plot. What I didn't like is Chen's character. Would be nice to have Teresa (the red pepper one) be the main female instead. Can't really see what is in Chen's character - so stupid and all. Jimmy Lin is kind of overacted in there. He has improved somewhat in Lotus Lantern though (let me guess - ypp again?)

Anyway, the plot is not consistant. From such a sly person, Siu Yu Yee seems to lose all his smartness after a few episodes. (what with the Gangnam incident and all) Make one wonder if he is really that smart or just people in the valley are only too stupid anyway.

The actress who plays murong girl is ok too though her costumes too modern.

Yu Lei and Teresa stood out the most.

Goofy: Hmm.... Not only the plot has changed GREATLY (the 10 bad ppl were not suppose to die, Murong 9 had a minor role, Ih Hua Kiong is not 'evil' sect, there's nothing between 1st Princess and Yan Nan Thian,... the list is endless.......), but the character is also changed. Siau Yu Er suppose to be extremely witty and funny, not idiotic perverted guy like this, and Hua Wu Cie supposed to be 'Wu Cie' = perfect <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> Siau Yu Er and Wu Cie should have extremely tight bond, and not just 'dreams'. Both of them were not sleeping around.
Thie Sing Lan IS a crying woman, not much change about it...

What irritate me most is that ypp (or whoever the guilty one) omit So Ying character. She's a girl, not so beautiful but very much graceful that she became the prettiest of them all, so witty, cunning,... but with no martial art capabilities. She's my favorite female wuxia character, actually...

(heehee! I'm slowly pulling back from the fanfic world. I will try harder to concentrate on homework, and concentrate less on my fanfic...basically, HW goes first...)
