Is that a man or a woman playing Sun Wukong? In the closeup it looks like a woman. And he/she is so tiny.
The makeup and costume does have a very 'retro' look. But I like it. I'm looking forward to this one.

This Tang Seng looks like a hot playboy, no wonder the Empress of the Xi Liang Kingdom of Women and various sexy female demons fall for him.
Looks good! I hope it's good hah! Please nothing like the Quest of Sutra :(
I don't like the monkey king makeup. Lu Xiao Ling Tong's 20+ years ago was so much better and believable looking.

Liu Xiao Ching will be cast as the goddess of mercy, Guan Yin. Liu Xiao Ching was well known for playing the empress Wu Ze-Tian.

Wang Li Ke will be cast as the Queen of "Nu Er Guo" (Maiden Country). This queen falls in love at first sight with the Tang Monk.

Can't wait till this one...it doesn't have that cheap feeling as the TVB does.
....wow:clap: the costumes are amazing!
DUDE! Personally I hate monks, and tend to refrain from watching any movies where monks are the main character or one of the main characters...I will watch Journey to the West only because I know I'm watching an actor on screen portraying a monk. In addition, in the storyline there are three other major characters and a plethora of supporting cast...I think I will be anticipating this series!
Wow, those are some spectacular costumes!
I just can't get over how tiny the guy playing Sun Wukong is.
wow, seems like the budget for this series costume is much greater than hsds...beautiful. and wang li ke is so beautiful...what other series has she been in?
I thought this thread was for the Zhang Ji Zhong version of JTTW (or so the title says), which hasn't even started filming yet? Those pics are for a completely different new adaptation.
Yeah, the pics in the above posts are not from ZJZ's version, which hasn't even started filming yet.
The pics should go to this thread:

Wow, this is an interesting twist...so exactly how many different adaptations of JTTW are they planning to release? It be more interesting if they released at the same time as one another.
Here's the website for Zhang Ji Zhong's version of Journey to the West:

I look forward to this one. I am trying to watch the 1986 version but the production quality is just too bad. Acting was great, but it just look like a cheap show.
