I believe it was Murong Fu. When racing with Duan Yu (whom he initially thought was Murong Fu), he showed signs that he believed Murong Fu was more or less his equal.
Yeah I thought MRF should fit in one of those but the sentence seems to be suggesting there's more than one.
I also don't quite get why XF thought MRF can't be the one setting him up hmm.. never got to know that guy.
