Windows XP Themes

Where can I get good and safe XP themes? I get most of mine from here

But, would like to check out more. I've tried out theme from some other sites, but, they don't seem compatible. They either are not working or messed up my taskbar (it will show only the classic style instead of the rounded XP style, despite the menu showing the correct style).

I've patched my uxtheme.dll.

Maybe my patch is not compatible with those xp theme that are not working well.

I've not tried 'True Transparency' or 'WindBlind'.

Is using TT and WB the only way to get transparent XP theme?

I didn't even know themes for XP are available for downloads! Thanks for the info. My netbook's using XP, though I'd never done anything to the theme ~ it remained the default blue, or was it some other color, I'd never noticed. =p

my main comp is a mac, so far it looks pretty enough for me. ^_^

There are 2 type of XP themes.

1) Signed by Microsoft
2) Not signed by Microsoft

There are a few themes that was made by Windows XP developers that you can install straight away. Someone will use these themestyle and add their own icons and wallpapers etc to make XP themes. These can be installed without doing anything to the PC

The second type, the designer developed their own themestyle (i.e. the menu bar, taskbar pattern). These kind of themes, you have to download a patch to patch the uxtheme.dll before you can install. This is because Microsoft won't let user use unsigned themes. Some say it's because Microsoft want money. But, I also think it's because Microsoft doesn't want improperly coded themes to mess up the display. Before you patch your uxtheme.dll, you have to create a restore point first so that if anything happen, you can restore back to previous setting. This is very important. I've tried some themes and patch that do mess up my display.
