Storyline/Plot - SPOILERS!!!

This series takes place during the end of the Qing dynasty and centers primarily around the love story between princess Yun Xiang and actor Wen Liang Yu. They're separated the night they'd planned to elope and Yun Xiang is rescued by an enemy of the royal family, Fang Tian Yu. Tian Yu falls in love with Yun Xiang and comes between Yun Xiang and Liang Yu numerous times, even going as far as following through on a plot to kill Liang Yu. Yun Xiang thinks Liang Yu has perished and tries to kill Tian Yu for revenge, but ends up being thrown in prison and put on death row. Wealthy citizen Shen Shi Hao also loves Yun Xiang and rescues her by pulling a switcheroo, at which time Yun Xiang discovers that she's pregnant with Liang Yu's child and decides to marry Shen Shi Hao and become his second wife in gratitude for his saving her life. Eighteen years later, Liang Yu returns as Beijing's most prominent mob ringleader. Unbeknownst to him, his son with Yun Xiang, Shen Zi Kang, has grown up and become a police captain who's dead set on capturing Liang Yu. To further complicate things, Zi Kang has fallen in love with Tian Yu's daughter Yu Yan, but she's in love with Liang Yu. All the love, hate, gratitude, and revenge implodes...

Interesting plot! Such a pity Ady turned down the role of Yun Xiang, as well as Kai Xin to actually work on that worse-than-mediocre album of hers.

So Leila's character is a courtesan..that should be interesting. I'm quite confirmedd that she marries Yan Kuan's character later and probably had the daughter with him because i saw their characters' wedding pics some time ago.

Nope, not yet. I'm looking forward to this one. Sammul and Yan Kuan! The female cast isn't bad either. I'm so glad Charmaine declined to be in this series.

I'm looking forward to this series too. i'm equally glad that Charmaine is not in it. Thank god. Huo Ssu Yan, Leila Tong is much better choice.

So where does Leila Tong come into the story? is she like a supporting character? so she's not really part of the story?

Leila Tong's character is supposed to be the 2nd female lead so she should have relatively heavy amount of screentime in here. Her character sound refreshing as well.

Although i dont really fancy Huo Si Yan, especially her acting, which i find pretty stiff and raw still, I think I'll probably find her more tolerable to watch than Charmaine Sheh. In the first place, if Sammul is the male lead, I'll find Charmaine pretty awkward if paired with him.

Has anyone seen this series yet? Has it been aired in Mainland China yet? Is it good?

Btw, Leila looks better than the lead girl.

any ideas of what role florence has in this series? there doesn't seem to be anything on her anywhere.

News has it that the series will be aired in mainland soon. If so, videos might be available online soon as well. Not sure about the DVDs though.

The main girl is ooglie, Leila is prettier, how come she's not the main lead? Bummer :(:(:(
