"The Qin Empire" is the screen adaptation of "Hei Se Lie Bian", the first of six stories which in total, make up Sun Hao Hui's historial novel, "Da Qin Di Guo".

The Qin Empire (Hei Se Lie Bian) takes place during the warring states period and focuses on the reforms instilled by Qin's Chief Advisor, Shang Yang.

Anyone watched this yet? I've watched a couple of episodes online and so far so good. I love the theme songs for this series. Very grand and majestic-sounding.

I've download 1/2 of the series, had watched 10 eps. at one shot! :eek: The war scenes are good, very addictive. Currently stop ler, need to study for exam... :(

Same here!! I started the first few episodes a few weeks ago and stopped to study but my fingers were itchy so i watched another few episodes last week and 2 more last night. If not for my current exams, i would have continued :(

Why only after next July LZ??

I've only seen slightly more than 2 episodes of GYY (she appears quite late in the series) and so far, i like her character. Bai Xue's an intelligent and knowledgeable lady but rather playful and cheery as well. She falls quickly for Wei (Shang) Yang and though he doesnt explicitly show it, its quite clear he's fond of her too.

Have finished almost 3/4 of this series and a real thumb's up for it! Every one of the actors are doing awesome jobs. Wang Zhi Fei's quite a cool and brilliant Shang Yang eventhough he looks too matured and rather cartoonish as the younger Shang Yang. I think he looks much better with mustache/beard on. GYY's beautiful as usual and her character's really strong and admirable; a pity her screentime's minimal.

Hey hey sunny, you're fast on watching! :D I just finished my exams and busy with work recently... :p Will start watching this drama now since I finished dl all the eps. :D Yeah I agreed, GYY is very beautiful here, caught my sight once she came out in 1st scene. :blush:

The other female characters arent too bad either though not as intelligent and talented as Bai Xue (GYY). Actually the princess looks very pretty as well (she resembles actress Ning Jing) and she seems more like the female lead as she appears more often than GYY.

Am at episode 39 now and seems like Bai Xue has another item to add to her list of talents- she's a skilled fighter.

I watched several episodes online but it takes quite awhile to load so i bought it from a local store since it was on sale. The version i watched is released by CCTV and doesnt have English subs.

Is this series about Ha.ng Vo~ and Lu*u Ban ? Where Luu Ban doesn't have any formal education and Hang Vo was very brave and good at war tactics??? Sorry, I don't know the Chinese name for those 2 historical figures. What role is GYY playing? Is she Hang Vo's wife? One of the most beautiful woman at that time?? Or is she Lu*~u Tri', the very smart and ambitious wife of Luu Ban ???

Sorry to disappoint but GYY only appears for about 1/4 of the series. She appears around episode 9-11, again in 13 (if i recall correctly), disappears and appears a little here and there from episode 26-28 (can't remember clearly) and appears again in 39-40 before disappearing and appearing a little here and there in the last few episodes including the ending scene in the last episode. She shares a love-but-cannot-be-together relationship with the lead actor hence the disappearing and reappearing and all. If u compare this to her screentime in "Qin Wang Li Shi Min", she appears significantly less in here.

Im not sure who the 2 you're talking about Tiff but im guessing Liu Bang and Xiang Yu? This series is not about them. Their story takes place at the end of the Qin and beginning of the Han dynasty whereas the plot for this series takes place during the Qin dynasty (or rather, Qin kingdom during the Warring States Period).

GYY has been concentrating more on movies and stage plays in the recent years. Nonetheless, she filmed another series before this one named, "Ai Wu Hui" where she's the leading character and has plenty of screentime in there.
