The one-above-all is Internet Download Manager. Pros: Pretty much any video clip from any site can be downloaded using this program (youku, youtube, tudou, etc.); super easy to use; super fast. Cons: Costs 20+ bucks (there're workarounds though).

The second best is FlashGet. Pros: fast download speed; easy to use; FREE; torrent. Cons: kinda messy interface, more susceptible to attack, pop-ups.

Is it one time thing or 20+ buck per month?? How is the quality of the sound if you convert the video to mp3? If it's one time thing then it's worth it. There are lot of teochew songs that I really like from tudou but unable to download using youtube downloader. What do you mean by workarounds?

you pay $2x only once for internet download manager. some workarounds are cracking or using a 3rd-party software that resets the 30-day trial period. google is your friend, dude. the quality of a video/converted audio file has nothing to do w/ the programs used to download, rather it depends on the dude who uploads the video and the programs used to convert. The majority of videos on free video-sharing sites like tudou, youku,... are crappy. want high quality? you'd better pay, or go to pirate sites.
