Saw Toy Story 3 with my boyfriend. I loved it - Pixar never ceases to amaze me. Now, I wouldn't say it's one of the best Pixar movies, but for a third sequel, it's just wonderful. The ending made me cry though.
You don't have to watch the first two to watch this one, but watching the first two does make you appreciate the storyline and characters better.
Korean Hansel and Grekel (not sure whether it is the correct spelling). About three never grown up kids who stay in a nice house in the dense forest. Not a very nice show in my opinion because the kids are not willing to accept reality. The ending could have been that the kids leave the nice house too. Or do they at the end? I am not sure.
I'm still keen to watch it in the cinema too. :( I mean, can it be worse than the"Doctor Parnasuss" movie?
Jaded said it! And I'll add on: If you watch 1 and 2, it will give you a better reason to cry. :pQuote:
WoW. Everyone's been giving it rave reviews. Does one have to have watched numbers 1 and 2 to follow the storyline better?
For those who had followed the Toy Story series, it makes feel like we've grown up with Andy. That makes an emotional attachment to story.

Predator: I want to watch the Arnie's version again, as I'll want to make a comparison between that and this new one. Since I can't remember much on the Arnie one.
Slightly beyond my expectation, this movie is not bad at all. The actors, plus the storyline.
I have just seen, Comrades, Almost A Lost Story. What a beautiful movie. Definitely one the gems of the Hong Kong cinema. Leon Lai and Maggie Cheung were both extraordinary. I am sure there are lot of guys who can relate themselves to leon Lai's character. His character literally grows in the film from simple minded country bump to sophisticated matured man. But he never looses his innocence through out the movie. His simplistic and down to earth nature remains intact after all these struggle. Maggie's character is more layered and by no means simple. She is willing to go distance and do whatever it takes to achieve her so called goal. When she cries over Pao's death body, I could literally feel her pain. Such a convincing actress. Leon and Maggie's characters came to Hong Kong to seek better a life. First of all, both of them disillusioned of what better life is. They pursued for wealth in their own ways, but ultimately realizing that a better fulfilling life comes when you find your other half.
After watching this wonderful movie, I thought that movies of today really depreciated by leaps, specially ones made by Hollywood. Despite all these new technology and big budgets, they got lost in touch with the art. I wouldn't call movies made today as an art (except few ones), rather an entertainment for mass audience. Did mass audience become so shallow to force studios to produce such less impressive movies or Does movie industry force audience become so shallow to impressed by such movies?
What? You watched Predators already? It's out?? Oh! I'm a huge fan of the franchise! This is what I get for not watching television and staying at home too much...I'm so not cool!
I have ALL the Predator movies LOL. The latest one is supposed to be the real sequel to the original. Well, I'll have to see!
Just saw Predator. I don't know why they bother anymore.
It fails to poor logic, poor logic in plot and fight scenes. I wouldn't want to spoil anything for you until you've seen the movie. When you've seen it, we can go into more detail.
I watched The Rounders. This film about poker. Regardless of that and no play poker, this movie is really involving plot and what happens to the principal actors. This film old. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPvILCgCgzw

Watch 'Twilight: Eclipse' in the cinema.
Maybe I went in with pre-conceive bias due to reading a negative review of the novels itself. But, the story is really fanfictionish and Bella is so Mary Sue. She's so very special that a whole tribe of werewolves and a clan of vampires all all gather together to protect her. She's so special that she's invited to the werewolves clan meeting that no human has joined before.
The imprinting thingy, I have also read a similar concept in a fanfiction before.
Maybe watching Twilight and New Moon will help (I didn't watch these 2). 3/4 of the movie, I was thinking. What's so special about this girl that a clan of vampires and a tribe of werewolf go out of their way to protect her? I asked my housemate who has read the book. She said they just like her. For 3/4 of the movie, I find Bella bland. she's defined by how much everyone else like/love her and how much she loves Edward and wants to be a vampire. I go in without knowing anyone of the characters. But, I can slowly see Jacob, Edward and other characters' personality came out as the movie goes. But, Bella only finally show some personality at the last part where she tells Edward why she wants to become a vampire.
Btw, Edward and Bella's love reminds me of YG and XLN. :p
Good thing about the movie is the action. All those vampires running in lightning speed and the werewolves shapeshifting into wolves and the final fight. I also like watching the back story of the other vampires and the werewolves clan. I find their stories more interesting than the love triangle of Edward-Bella-Jacob where Jacob has totally no chance of winning.
I still prefer the authentic Karate Kid with Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita. I have the first film in my DVD collection. :D

Just watch World Trade Center and As Good As It Gets.
WTC: better filmed diseaster movie. Good old lessons on Courage!
AGAIG: Movie is just like its title. ;)
I've recently seen documentary about making Hero. It was quite good and eye-opening for how films actually made and how film making would be frustrating experience and finally more close up on the actors and actresses that appeared in the film.
But while I was looking for information on "Hero", I encountered a certain poster which supposed to made for American Audience. In it, only Jet Li and Zhang Ziyi is shown. I suppose as lovers or fellow warriors and ironically Jet Li seems to holding a Katana. What an outrageous poster. It's true that Jet Li and Zhang Ziyi are more known to western audience. Jet Li is more or less the central character of the film so I kind of OK showing him. But it's ridiculous to show Zhng Ziyi while Chen Daoming, Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung, Donnie Yen all has more significant character than her. Let's assume that Richard Ger, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon, Megan Fox all played together in a culturally significant epic film. But how one would feel if the poster shows only George Clooney and Megan Fox.
^I don't think Zhang Ziyi should be more popular to Western audiences than Maggie Cheung. o.O
I just watched Ip Man 2. It was good but the ending was so predictable.
I have just watched Hua Mulan by Vicki Zhao Wei. It was a very touching and classical movie....based on traditional chinese tale, Hua Mulan. The girl who took her father's place at war with Rouran tribes. Vicki actes Hua Mulan.
Funeral March (2001). Excellent character-driven HK movie.

Akira Kurosawa's "Dreams" - beautiful filmmaking which unfortunately felt like it was beating me over the head with its themes and sedative effects. I get it; boy do I get it. Now just let me sleep.
