the guy got what he always deserved, killed by an animal he shouldn't have been anywhere near.
yeah sucks to be terry or the kids right now, but seriously, if you didnt know this was going to happen, you were kidding yourself.
She married a daredevil and hey they tend to have a habit of dying young.
I seriously cant understand why people care, the guy spent his life being a dumbass, putting animals in cages and doing stupid dangerous sh*t and you all follow the media line of being sad about it and "o he was so nice".
wake up.
thousands of innocent and nice people die everyday and no one cares about them, so f**k i hate it when you all seem to care about a celebrity dying.
GG sheeps.

Steve was great. I've spent many nights watching him on TV laughing at him hurting himself, hoping something like this would happen for the cameras... It's kind of sad now that it actually happened. He was very entertaining.
I also originally thought that this was a joke... I've never heard of anyone being killed by a stingray...
From wikkipedia page on stingrays:
"Fatal stings, such as that which killed Australian naturalist and television personality Steve Irwin (an animal documentarian) in 2006,[2] are extremely rare. (As of 1996, worldwide known deaths from stingray barb injuries numbered 17.)"
What are the odds?
I heard it was actually caught on tape. His death, I mean.
Well they said he was filming for a documentary.
It was on Yahoo's "The 9" earlier but I didn't watch it.
sigh.. who would've thought? I enjoyed watching him.. :(
how weird it is that his life was ended by a stingray. Who would've thought.. after all the dangerous deadly animals he's dealt with - the stingray does the job as a silent assasin.
Hope Steve enjoyed the time of his life following his passions and making it big to the world by doing what he loves and do best. He'll always be remembered and remain as a true wildlife daredevil warrior. My condolences go out to him and his loved ones.
R.I.P. "Crocodile Hunter"
That is sad news...over here in New Zealand they've been doing tributes on the Rock (a radio station) every hour...he's quite the celebrity everywhere, everyone knows him. It's sad that he died :(
My Dad saw a guy once get a stingray barb straight through his foot because he jumped off a bridge right onto it...it would be highly painful and one thing I really wish I never have to suffer with.
RIP Steve
As for the tape of the stingray, I don't think it will be released. The video itself wasn't on Yahoo!, but the news of it was. Supposedly, this is the only video of a sting ray barb stuck in a man. Sad really.
Steve Irwin was a really nice dude and loved animals. But then again, if you play with fire, you'll get burned. At least he died doing what he loved.
I love his shows.
He is such a passionate person about what he is doing, and I respect that.
R.I.P. Steve.
But he did die doing something he loved, which I suppose, could be a comfort of sort.
It's sad when someone like him dies.
I hope his family will get through this.
He will be missed.
Wow, time flies.
Already 5 years since he passed away. You were a legend. RIP.
