Trapped in the PRC

Short summary:

Man and wife immigrates to the USA from the PRC in 1989 and have 2 children in the USA; they also become US citizens. Man decides to go back to the PRC to do business, contribute to the mother country. A business rival accuses him of selling state secrets, all charges are dropped by the government but his business rival uses guanxi to lock him in legal problems for years that forces him to not be able to leave the PRC. The story is about his daughter and her efforts to bring him home to the USA.

A story that could give Kafka nightmares.
