plan on reading it, it looks pretty good.
here's a very brief summary of book 1 , I read it two years ago and this is based on memory, so pardon some mistakes. :cool:
Xiao Shi Yi Lang book 1
Feng Shiniang showed up and found Xiao Shiyi Lang, the famous thief in jiang hu
Feng Shiniang attempted to steal the deer carving sabre, but almost got kiled herself
Fortunately, Xiao came to the rescue, but the deer carving sabre that she stole turned out to be fake
Xiao and Feng met Yang Kai Tai and was invited to Lady Shen's birthday, where the real deer carving sabre is supposed to be shown
Xiao, Feng, and Yang went to the Lady Shen's birthday and met with 5/6 top young pugilists, including Yang himself and Lian Chengbi, where they found out that the real sabre had been stolen, supposedly by Xiao, who was actually innocent.
Xiao accidently met the Little master who killed one of the original sabre's protectors and wrote his "Xiao" name on the tree to spread bad rumor about Xiao's reputation as the thief
Meanwhile Shen Bijun, a wife of Lian Chengbi, who is also the most beautiful woman in jianghu, was travelling and stopped at a tavern, she was intercepted by Little Master
Xiao appeared just in time to rescue Shen Bijun
Xiao treated Shen Bijun's injury at a run down temple while slowly easing her suspicion toward him, but Shen still didn't know that her savior was the notorious thief, Xiao Shiyi Lang. Two guys showed up to pick up Shen, she was doubtful but decided to follow them back, and left Xiao. The two guys turned out to be Little Master's henchmen. Xiao saved the day once again. Little Master escaped.
Xiao accompanied Shen back to her manor, but unable to tell her that her manor had been burnt down, Shen felt suspicious and left Xiao, only to find that her manor and grandma had vanished into thin air, the person who did it ? Xiao 11 Lang. Shen met some pugilists who claimed to be her friends, they turned out to be Little Master's henchmen once again.
Xiao appeared again to save Shen, but was injured. Shen found out that the man who saved her over and over again was Xiao and finally realized he was not a bad person and that his name has been tarnished wrongfully by Little Master.
Little Master tortured Xiao with poison to make his injury worse, while letting Shen watch her play lovers to Xiao. Xiao pretended nothing happened but Shen knew he was suffering.
Xiao and Shen jumped into a cliff to escape Little Master. The bottom of the cliff turned out to be a marsh filled with mud and healing power, the marsh carried them to Xiao's secret residence down the valley
Xiao and Shen recovered and they realized they had feelings for each other, but Shen is someone's else wife and must return to Lian Chengbi. Sadly, Xiao must take Shen back to Lian manor, which he did but they parted on the sad note at a wine tavern. When Shen returned Lian and the other top young pugilists tricked her into telling Xiao's whereabout.
The 4 top pugilists stormed the wine tavern and attempted to kill the sad, drunken Xiao. Xiao was injured heavily. Meanwhile Shen felt manipulated and chased after Xiao, Lian Chengbi let her go. Later, Xiao met Shen in the forest, together they set up a plan to escape from the top pugilists. Xiao and Shen were finally able to kill each of the top pugilists one by one using wit, strategy and luck. Lian Chengbi was too proud and too gentleman to follow them trying to kill an injured man.
Xiao and Shen escaped and run to a strange house, in the house they saw a miniature house with small puppets of pugilists. A servant appeared and served them tea, when they drank the tea, they had turned to be puppets inside the miniature house with no way out. The residences were famous pugilists whom whereabouts were unknown in jianghu and a strange essentric man with beautiful women as maids, Xiao and Shen had to pretend to be husband and wife to survive.
After getting stuck for sometimes, Xiao finally figured out a way to escape. Shen and Xiao escaped while the two long lost pugilists also escaped with them. Xiao made a promise to go back and face the strange powerful man, while the two seniors advised him not to because he was scarily powerful. On the way, they met Feng Shiniang who was running away from her wedding with Yang Kaitai, Xiao left Shen with Feng and went back to face the man.

I've been writing too much, I'll do book two some other time.
Sorry on second thought because the translation of XSYL book 2 is still going, I can't give out spoilers, but basically Lian Chengbi became the bad guy and Xiao had a duel with him, and at the end, he ended up with neither Shen Bijun nor Feng Shiniang.

Of course, Xiao 11 Lang, who had always been a character who's always in control throughout the first book, didn't want to believe that it was possible for them to be reduced as puppets inside the miniature house, even by black magic, (Yeah, I know this sounds weird, but this is what Gu Long actually wrote :P), so he went to investigate, got acquinted with some of the live puppets inside the mansion, some of who are famous wulin Seniors who were thought to have been missing in jiang hu for decades, and played it along with the master of the house, the strange powerful man (or Xiao Yaohou or Count Carefree), he finally figured out a way to get out of the capricious situation he's in.

Haha, can someone sum up book 2 please?
Are any of the tv adaptions faithful to the story? GL stories are so much more fun to watch than JY since they're still unknown to me.
How can a midget be so powerful? :D
it amazes me that the drama xiao shi yi lang si actually quite accurate! i'm sorry. i've always had the impression that only jing yong wu xia follows the book while gu long wu xia goes whereever however the director feels like (points to xiao yu er yu hua wu que, chy liu xiang, fei dao you jian fei dao)- not that i've read any of these, but i know they're quite inaccurateQuote:
