the latest rumour for the movie version of Roch by Tsui Hark, Zhao Liying as xiao long nu and Ling gengxin as yang guo.
that is still a rumour unlike the tv series that already shooting in the middle of time.
and another Jin Yong's remake, Young Fox 2019, by one of the best wuxia producer Zhang Jizhong, should have 45 episodes, shooting would start in february 2019 .
i found out a twitter post that said the actor candidates for lead role Hu Fei are DylanWang and Joseph Zeng. Sun Yihan confirmed to play Cheng Lingsu, HF's sworn sister. DylanWang and Joseph Zeng are both still in negotiations for the role of Hu Fei, things are not settled yet. As for the role Yuan Ziyi, HF's first love, candidates are Zhang Xinyu and Qiao Xin. Louis Fan is confirmed to play Hu Yidao, HF's father.

But what's wrong is NOT have ANY abilities to craft ORIGINAL good TV series like Jin Yong works, everything other than JinYong pales in comparison.

Thomas Tong is awesome as Zhang in The Taoism Grandmaster However I feel like he won't be entertaining as a young Yang Guo. Perhaps for older and mature Yang Guo after he and Xiao Long Nu re-unite then sure but as young Yang Guo, they should reconsider?
I think however he does looks great for the role of LingHu Chong if they consider to remake it?
Just as you said, I also think the new Xiao Long Nu kind of look like Liu Yi Fei?
I've been thinking what if they go with Viann Zhang as Li Mochu again? I mean she was great as Kang Min in DGSD and she was also great as Li Mochu in Condor Heroes 2014. Wouldn't it be better if they have her reprise the role again?
If only they could reconsider with the new Dong Fang Bu Bai as Yang Guo. He just looks too charmingly charismatic.

Well i lole actor who played dong fang bu bai. But he too light skinned. Whole yang guo lived out doorsy, he should be darker since he had harder life etc..
Even tho Louis koo was light also he fitted role too. Dong fang bubai actor is way too pale, he couldve been yang kang tho.
I dont really care about gx, just as long she doesnt get hecka screen time.
I liked the 2014 version since they added back story to everyone to let new audience understand each characters back story without having watch the prequel. But they shouldve done it in better manner to fit flow of story or had them in beginning of story then continue to rotch story.

In the Taoism Grandmaster discussion, I meant to say for the character of Zhang Ling in Taoism Grandmaster and not Thomas Tong himself. Zhang Ling is kind of like a young playful Yang Guo and LingHu Chong.
However just looking at the new condor hero poster, Thomas Tong kind of look too mature to play as Young Yang Guo.
He would however looks awesome to play as the mature Yang Guo after he re-unite with Xiao Long Nu.
I also think Thomas Tong could fit the role of LingHu Chong if they are considering another remake?
As for the actor/actress of Xiao Ao Jiang Hu 2018, I just look up on some blog and it say that Jiang Zi Xin is Xiao Si Mei Ling Shan and Yu Xi as Dong Fang Bu Bai.
It only say that he played in Xiao Ao Jiang Hu and non other series.
Jiang Zi Min have several roles in other series even the new popular Yan Palace she was in but just a small role?
I think she would looks great to be Guo Xiang.
Also if you think the new Dong Fang Bu Bai look like he could fit as Yang Kang then how come not Yang Guo, I mean since Yang Guo is suppose to look kind of like Yang Kang?
