Why is the Search function so shitty?

The search that came with the forum upgade is really worthless.

For example, previously I'd started a topic prominently featuring the word "veda" in it. When I typed "veda" in the search box (top right) and evoked the search, it found nothing.

When I searched for it on google (using "site:spcnet.tv"), I found 29 results, including my topic.

This is true. I find it easier to search for threads using google then spcnet on search function.
