The spring break over here is March 17-21. Given a choice, I will choose skiing over Vegas. Guess I won't be able to join this SPCNET get-together.

i LOVE vegas, but this is a bad time for me as well. and kind of hard for me to explain to my parents why i'm going again.....to meet a bunch of ppl i met online.... :D
plus, i don't think i'd be much fun. you'd have to drag me away from the blackjack tables.
anybody up for something in nyc? that's nice and close by and i can go just about anytime.
Could a moderator consolidate the poll in this topic with the main Las Vegas topic?
GuGu already booked her ticket so I guess the date have to be March 22-26. Unless everyone just totally ignore her and choose a different time. :)
This is getting off topic, but, since we're talking about my favorite city in the world...
For starters, hop on a trolley. It's the best way to see the city in one day, and the driver will let you in on a few things about the birthplace of America.
The trolley has many stops throughout the city, and you can hop on and hop off as you please.
Among the things to see are the city's Firsts:
-America's first bar
-America's first restaurant
-America's first's post office
-America's first public school
-America's first park
-America's first subway system
-America's first church
-America's first Baseball World Series
Hop off at the Lake front. Go up to the sea lions outside the aquarium, and watch them swim upside down. This is my favorite place to admire the city's magnificent architecture. In the summer, You can take a water taxi to the airport across the harbor. Stay, dine at, or simply take pictures of the Boston Marriott - Long Wharf:

Here you can sign up for whale sighting boat trips.
Walk a couple of alleys at night around this area. You'll get some great views of the downtown architecture.
Hop off & Eat @ Chinatown. China Pearl is a local favorite, although this dim sum eatery gets busy on weekends.
Go knock on Senator John Kerry's door. While you're at it, see who is the current resident in JFK's old house.
Pay respect to the founding fathers of USA at the Freedom Trail near Boston Commons.
Photo opportunity: a reflection of the city's oldest church can be seen in the city's tallest glass building (John Hancock building). Where the old meets the new, they say...
If you're into the arts, the world-famous Boston Symphony Orchestra is in town.
Do yourself a HUGE service and drive through the Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge at least once, preferably at night, and more preferably as a passenger so you can admire the architecture freely:

No trip to Boston is complete without a visit to 2 of America's (and the world's) top academic institutions: Harvard and MIT. You MUST see the MIT Computer Science building designed by Frank Gehry:

Do we have to dress as one of the Jin Yong Characters?
Thats true!!Quote:
In Vegas, nobody would think anything of it even if you did.
omg, pj knows more about boston than me! :D
and, off topic, i used to be able to get a table at china pearl even on the busiest days with little or no wait. :p things have changed a little now, though.
i might be able to get you hotel discounts at that marriott as well.
if ppl want to come to boston, i'd be happy to show them around to all those places pj mentioned! and a note about that MIT building. best not to see it in the winter bc ice and snow fall from it and hit ppl. MIT is currently suing the architectural firm that designed it. it's cool...but dangerous...like me! :D
Now that's the kind of connection I'm talking about.
Next time I go to Boston I'm calling up my girl pemberly first.
Now that's an interesting problem. Even a genius like Gehry failed to see it coming.Quote:

Ummmm HELLOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! VEGAS!!!!!!!!!!
You guys don't have to go on exactly the same days as me. It can be before or after but just make sure you're at least going to be there on one of the days. :D But if your spring break is the week before my vacation, then that's fine too! Don't go there JUST to meet SPCNETers, this is your vacation! Go with friends and have fun!
So.... RWX and PJ can't make it? Awwww :(
And I really wanted to meet a real model. Maybe next time RWX. :p
