Firstly: Chen Jialuo never wanted to "Fan Qing Fu Ming" (Rebel against Qing to resume the Ming), he just wanted to "Fan Qing".
Second: there's no comparison between what the Red Flower Society did and the Cultural Revolution. To Chen Jialuo and most Han Chinese, the Manchurians were the agressors, in the way of the Nazis or Japanese during WWII. The Red Flower members were freedom fighters who wanted to fight against a regime which (in their eyes) oppressed their people.
I do not like Chen Jialuo myself, but I have to admit that his ideals were good. He really wanted to do something good for the people. It was just the way he handled all things which was entirely wrong.

If you were Han people, wouldn't you thought that you want to get freedom from the Manchurian?
Chen Jia Luo had an ambition, and he had a vision to drive away the Manchurian, the colonialist. He's a real hero.

First: Nurhachi never entered Beijing. Nurhachi was the Khan who united all Manchurian tribes and laid the foundations of the Qing. It was his son Huang Taiji who founded the dynasty and it was his grandson Emperor Shunzhi who entered Beijing aided by Prince Regent Dorgon.
When the Manchus entered Beijing, they did NOT kill the Hans. In fcat, they treated the Hans quite well. But later on, they did kill the entire population of the cities Yangzhou and Jiading.
Second: Chen Jialuo is definitely NOT a hero. Yes, he had ambitions and ideals, but so what? Many people have ambitions and ideals, but it is what they do to achieve these which makes them heroes. Chen Jialuo, obviously did everything wrong.
Chen Jialuo was a good person of course, and his ideals were admirable. But unfortunately, he was naive, self-centered, arrogant and immature. Instead of thinking about the big picture, he was only concerned about his personal feelings (his love for his mother, Godfather, his brother Qianlong, Huo Qingtong and the Fragrant Princess). He based his whole plan only on the brotherly trust between him and Qianlong alone, which is not only naive but also stupid... Sacrificing Fragrant Princess was despicable... Enter the palace for an act of vengeance and stepping right into the emperor's trap was immature and impulsive.
Chen Jialuo had the ambition to become a hero, and also heroic ideals, yet he lacked a heroic personality, maturity and wisdom. He tried to do what he thought was right, yet his actions were all wrong. This was all due to his personality traits, the weaknesses in his character.
Chen Jialuo is NOT a hero. He is just a pathetic, tragic young man who tried to do the right thing... but failed.
