I've been seeing posters and commercials for this movie for quite awhile now and finally saw the trailer today during the previews played before "Finding Neverland". I'll admit that the cast is the main appeal to me, but the story seems to have potential too. It's finally coming out on December 3 (this Friday!) and I definitely want to watch it. Is anyone else here interested in seeing it? Please share your thoughts on it once you do, too.

    $this->handle_bbcode_img_match('http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/wopsrtwo/Closer.jpg')

The poster itself would make a great advertisement for colored contact lenses.

i love natalie portman...so beautiful. it's just unfortunate that the star wars prequel did not live up to anyone's expectations; regardless, her popularity is still sky high. i hope her next roles are great as she has much potential in her future.

i also like jude law. so at least i like two of the the main characters...it's too bad jude ends up with julia roberts (BOOOOO). anyhow, i may watch this movie. let me know what you think and if it's worth the $9 or should i just wait for the video to be release.

Yeah, I like Natalie Portman as well. She is absolutely gorgeous, smart, and a promising actress too! I'm also a fan of Jude Law and Clive Owen, so that's 3 out of 4. Julia Roberts is a good actress and I like a lot of her movies, but I've just never found her that pretty or appealing.

Sure, I'll let you know what I think of the movie once I watch it.

Clive Owen is a very sexy actor from the UK. I first saw him in "The Bourne Identity" as the Professor and he caught my attention right away. He has an amazing pair of intense green eyes! I've also seen him in "Gosford Park" as Robert Parks and "King Arthur" as, well, Arthur. He is currently filming three new movies. Learn more about him here.

Actually, Natalie Portman's still a pretty good actress.

She was fantastic in Garden State, which I saw few days ago.

yes, she is a good actress; she was especially talented when she made her debut in the professional. either way, i've always been envious of her beauty...very pure and classy...timeless.

anyhow, closer has been getting good reviews, but based on the commercials, i don't have a strong incentive to see it in the theater. the big screen is made for action movies, and action this movie does not have.

If all goes as planned, I'm going to watch "Closer" on opening day tomorrow.

I think this movie will have plenty of excitement and images worthy of the big screen. After all, action is not restricted to the likes of things getting blown up, high-speed car chases, or kick butt kung fu.

true, true...but i go through moods where i prefer to watch romantic comedies or drama for as cheap as possible (rental) unless i really...really...really want to watch the movie. but go watch it and do tell me if it's worth it!

I saw this movie today and it wasn't really what I was expecting. There's a lot (and I mean A LOT) of sexual dialogue and content overall so if you've got virgin ears and would prefer to keep them as such, I wouldn't recommend this film. Some elderly folk in the theater walked out on the movie, if that says anything. Surprisingly, pornographic scenes were minimal, as much of that is left to the imagination. The movie's timeline covered on upwards of 4 years, but it never had a screen that said something like "1 year ago" or "3 months later", which I thought was rather unique in that it lets the audience connect the dots. On the acting front, I thought everyone did a decent job (most notably Natalie), but nothing particularly Oscar-worthy. Natalie and Jude had really good chemistry together, but the resolution of their relationship was kind of.... The end had a minor twist that I did not see coming.

it's too bad jude ends up with julia roberts (BOOOOO).
    He doesn't.

I would recommend that you wait for it to be released on video/DVD.

oh wow! you saw it already?!
i really want to watch this too, since it stars the ultra sexy Jude Law!!!
i saw the trailer on tv a while ago, and am impressed. too bad it has to have Julia Roberts in it.
i know i will be killed by her fans when they see this, but i really don't like her. period.

I enjoyed the humor in this movie, but that was mostly towards the beginning. Overall, I didn't like it very much mainly because I despised most of the characters and therefore couldn't really connect with any of them.

Like some of you... I went to watch 'closer' expecting to see a really good movie, since it had so many known stars on it. But what I got was more than i expected it. Thank goodness there was no sex scenes I wouldn't have been able to take it. hehe I found it funny with all the sex talk, not everyday i hear provokative language.
Unlike like some of you however, I had a lot of old people who watched it and liked it... None of them walked out or complained it was just me and my friend who made comments about it in the theater. ehehe

"Closer" has been nominated for 5 Golden Globe awards, including Clive Owen in the best supporting actor category and Natalie Portman in the best supporting actress category.

i thought the movie is pretty original and i like the convos, short, simply and direct. a little bit confusing at the beginning when its jumping back and forth. the scene where Julia and Clive Owen was pretty intense. Pretty good cast and acting . the twist at the ending was totally unexpected. overall, i like it!
