I think ZJZ's performance is predictable. That's why I put forth my formula based on past, present and future ZJZ productions.

Also, ZJZ saved alot of money doing a quickie BXJ so he'd have money to hype up DODM. Then he'll end up blowing his budget for unecessary SFX in DOMD and end up no money again and resort to rushing a poorly edited version to satisfy his investors' demand for immediate sales. Of course ZJZ will do it since he already know suckers will pay good money to buy his overhyped souless works.

That can only happen after he does HSDS so according to my formula it'd suck donkey's ***

It can also be 'ku ko po xin', meaning putting a lot of effort into making someone heed one's advices or listen to some argument.

I like ZZR more in 03's version than ZM. I think GYY acted a lot better than Alyssa's ZM who was bubbly, but was pretty off from the ZM in the novel.

    This is the Chinese phrase.
    婆心苦口
    Any help?
The ku ko would transliterate into something like "bitter words"?

    Thanks

I think I did mention some posts back this version's ZM was one dimensionally cute all the way. The movie version's ZM was very "cool".

Oh dear I'm not enjoying rewatching it this time around. Her imperial azz's never-ending cuteness is suffocating.

Hmm this thread's pretty far back...

Anyway, I'm currently in the middle of watching this. On episode 20. I'm pretty impressed, after reading the HSDS Novel this summer. As with all things that manage to reach 40 episodes, I think it does drag at points, but it's definitely better than I thought it would be. Alec Su is surprisingly good in his role as Zhang Wuji, but he was a bit too overemotional for Zhang Cuishan. I don't really like how they did Cuishan and Susu's story, but once Wuji's story finally gets moving, I got pretty hooked.

Of course, I'm loving how they did Zhao Min, who was my fave character from the book. Alyssa Chia is not only irresistably cute, but just overall great in her role! However, I got pretty impatient when Wuji and Zhao Min wouldn't meet until like...episode 18 was it?

It amazes me how even Zhu Er is pretty (at least prettier than average) in this adaptation.

BTW, just out of curiosity to check out the pace on this series, about what episode is Wuji and Zhiruo's wedding?

dis shit got one of the worst fighting scenes EVER... the lead actress is hot (allisa chia).. but that's about it.... i think the 2000 version of this might be better than this one... some how i think the main lead would be great as GJ... not as the lead in here. he's a bit small to be "tall/hansome" guy... and he has the plain look of GJ...

wow i`m late, but i just finished this series. it was ARRiGHT; some parts were really "EEHHH---" it just got stuck. i only cried a few times in here; i cried every scene where Cheung Yo Khi`s cousin ALi/ Tieu Chieu cried. i dotn know why. even though she wasnt lead her scenes were more touching....

it got suspenseful where the leading actress Alyssa & GYY were confronting eachother near the end!! dannnggg. & how GYY blamed the SCHEME she had done on Alyssa. dang that was messed up..

can someoen explain to me? who was the girl with the entourage with instruments, that saved the KaiBan`s leader`s daughter? she had a yellowish-orange outfit & she knew the same martial arts GYY`s character used, except she wasnt all evil. does she follow anywhere in Jin Yong`s story? or just a character they threw in to make it suspenseful?

That's Yang Guo's and Xiao Long Nu's daughter (Lady Yang) to my belief...hence that's the reason why Y Thien Do Long Ky is the final installment to the trilogy..

The event of HSDS happened about 100 years after YG/XLN time. So the lady couldn't be their daughter but I believe she was their descendant.
    be happy
