You think that the non-killing Kenshin is weaker than the Battousai. Not true.
While Kenshin stopped killing, he did not stop refining his techniques. He learned much from his 'pilgrimage' back to Seijuro to complete his training. He improved virtually all his old techniques, relearned some forgotten basics, and mastered 2 devastating new moves - the KuzuRyuSen and the AmakakeruRyuNoHirameki.
While the 'new' Kenshin is not as savage and vicious as Battousai, his swordsmanship is not inferior. Some may say it is even better, since he now has a true understanding and purpose in his life - to live to help others, and to live for himself and for his loved ones. Surely this understanding on what is important in life gives him greater strength of spirit than fighting and killing under govt orders.
who is shogo amakusa ?

The guy that believed that he had the power of god. It was a branch off story in the anime (not in the original manga)Originally Posted by ToOn99

actually hiko seijuro, sifu of kenshin, is way more powerful. hes the sweeper monk in the story.hes the only one who could kick kenshin around. and kenshin didnt defeat him. he was teaching kenshin the final move, which requires kenshin to counter the 2nd final move, which would result in death. and he ko'ed the godzilla guy in 1 move. + hes wearing the cape which was very heavy n clumbersome. its to dampen his fighting power cus it was too strong
Yes, Seijuro is possibly the strongest character in the story. He has spent his life perfecting his art, and there is no way that Kenshin can dream of beating him in an all out fight.
Following the manga strictly, and ignoring the anime filler episodes, Yukishiro Enishi is the 2nd stongest swordsman in the entire Kenshin story. He was the only person to have a sword art that was superior in every aspect, speed, power, elevation, etc to Kenshin's Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu. Interestingly, his technique was a Kenjutsu derived technique, perfected in China.
whos that guy ure refering to? the mummy man ? i only watched the anime
No. The mummy guy is Shishio.
Enishi is seen only in the OAV as well as the manga. He is the brother of Tomoe, Kenshin's 1st wife, whom he slaughtered. He lives for revenge against his sisters murderer. His rage and insanity makes him stronger than Kenshin.
Didn't Kenshin defeat Enishi by bursting his 'Veins of Vengeance' or whatever they were called?
The anime should have followed the manga instead of going off in some crazy direction (remember that german guy arc ) I would have loved to see the Enishi arc animated.
Anyway, imagine Enishi fighting YG. SHould be interesting. Pure anger/rage versus Pure Sadness (Sad palms)

New Kenshin is better than Battousai.
AmakakeruRyuNoHirameki requires the practitioner to have the will to live. It is not Sad Palm where you regret about the miserable things, it is the other way around. You fight to live, and in this case, for a better and peaceful life. That's my interpretation anyway
(and if I'm not mistaken, when Seijuro gave Kenshin his last chance to understand AmakakeruRyuNoHirameki he took off his cape and all other hindrances. Seijuro was not holding back. Kenshin did battle him in full strength and survive)
There are two things a person should never be angry at, what they can help, and what they cannot.

What anime you guys are talking about? Sounds really cool.
Kenshin. Or Samurai X (as it's sometimes called)
A series about the Hitokiri Battousai (Kenshin). He was the best, most feared assassin during the war. After the war, he disappears and reappears as a man looking for peace. Lots of hilarity ensues j/k
