It is rumored that the new movie, A Chinese Ghost Story, will include Zhao Wei and Chen Kun again. This would be their third collaboration. However, it is all rumor, don't know if it's true.
oh you mean the Painted Skin? I saw that movie already. Its was very touching.![]()
@!DEGE999: you mean to say there is a NEW ACGS being made? Did they not already have a trilogy of it already? I've only seen the orignal trilogy and thought number two was best of the three. number three was more or less the first two together into one movie.

A Chinese Ghost Story is different from The Painted Mask. The original version has Leslie Cheung & Joey Wong it. I have watched that version but I have never watched newer versions of it. This is just a rumor, I guess they are still negotiation over it. The director is Wilson Wip (director of Ip Man). Since Chen Kun & Zhao Wei attracted a lot of audiences from their collaboration in Painted Mask, the production wants to pick them again for A Chinese Ghost Story.
New Magazine: these are pretty blurry images, once the official ones are available I will post them.

I saw the orginal first two with Joey Wong and thought she did an amazing job at playing a ghost that looked totally human. Leslie Gheung did a great job as well as the loveable doofus (I forget his characters' name though) in that movie, he did amazingly well. Both of them did, in fact I actually perfer personally the original movies of the theme, but if another is made I will surely see it as Vicki was the reason I saw The Duel in the first place (hard to not watch a movie with such a spunky character and actress to pull it off now is it?)

These are some pix from the press conference. As you can see Zhao Wei lost a lot of weight from filming Mulan. Production just wrapped up. She is expected to appear at the Cannes Film Festival, and then immediately start her new movie 14 Blades. Zhao Wei was supposed to debut her new music album but that will be delayed until summer (?). There are rumors that she is in negotiation for another blockbuster movie after 14 Blades, but nothing is confirmed.

Donnie Yen says his new film "14 Blades" will compensate for his unrequited love for Zhao Wei in a previous film.
"Let me embrace 'love' this time," the Hong Kong action star said Thursday at a press conference in Beijing, where director Daniel Lee announced the start of filming.
In the martial-arts film, Yen plays a Ming Dynasty secret agent, who goes through adventures alongside his lover, played by mainland actress Zhao Wei.
Yen and Zhao collaborated in Gordon Chan's 2008 thriller "Painted Skin", in which Yen's character is in love with Zhao's, but the latter is married to another man.
"There were regrets last time around... Let me enjoy a good 'romance' this time," Yen joked.
"14 Blades" also features Brunei-born Chinese singer-actor Wu Chun.
The film is scheduled for release during the New Year season.
Production for martial arts movie '14 Blades' begins
SINGAPORE:
Production will officially begin for '14 Blades', a Ming-era martial arts movie directed by Hong Kong filmmaker, Daniel Lee. Starring Donnie Yen and Vicki Zhao, it will be MediaCorp Raintree Pictures' second co-production in China. Raintree is the biggest overseas investor in the period action drama said to be Asia's answer to Bourne Identity.
'14 Blades' tells the epic story of a secret agent in ancient China during the Ming dynasty. Weaving in themes of loyalty, chivalry and brotherhood, '14 Blades' is expected to showcase a dazzling mix of martial arts and espionage set against soul-stirring and majestic scenes.
Producer Daniel Lee said: "What is important is for the movie to have a contemporary feel. It should not feel like martial arts movies produced in the 1970s. If so, it will not be watchable. It should not resemble Hu Jinquan's movies. It will be contemporary in aesthetics, martial arts, treatment of the script, and outlook towards life."
Donnie Yen said: "I was very excited when the producer told me that he will project to the audience a martial arts world that has otherwise not been seen."
"During the process of casting, all my clothes, my image were totally different from my earlier image as projected in my earlier period movies. This gives me a brand new feeling," said Vicki Zhao.
'14 Blades' will be shot in Hengdian in Ningxia province. Production will begin this Sunday and will last till mid-August.
Hi everyone.
I just recently watched the movie Painted Skin. I watched it 3 times because there were some stuff I was not clear about it. (I like it alot). But there are still some things I am not 100% sure of.
1. General's feeling for his wife, was it true love or just duty loyalty of husband.
2. General feelings toward the demon, was it lust or was it love?
It bothers me because I can't tell for sure if the General's feelings? Did he love the demon or his wife. There is some part you think you know and then they keep you guessing at the end when he said to his wife"Whether you are demon or human, I love you. I love you forever". Then he turns around and says to the demon "I love you, except I already have PaiRong". I guess it's open to interpretation, but just want other opinons.
Also, did Donnie Yen's character returned because Peirong wrote to him asking for help or did he just by chance returned.
And finally..can't really tell the feeling of the General towards Peirong and Donnie Yen's character. Was there any jealousy?
Just wanted some thoughts on these.
